Brake rotor upgrade, supercharger, bilstein shocks, towing package.
Hello, I’m new to owning a Tacoma TRD Sport 2007. We have upgraded the brake system for towing. The truck has the towing package and a supercharger on the engine.

We have been given a travel trailer that has the dry weight of 4,618 lbs. Will that be too much for the Taco to carry once loaded and a fourwheeler Polaris 570 in the truck bed (around 700 lbs)?

Taco will do it but will not like it one bit. Also probably not very safe and may exceed GVWR. 4600 lb trailer + 4500 lb truck + 700 lb quad + 200 lb driver = 10,000 lbs. Now add passengers and water and fuel and gear.......

    You won't like it.
    The truck won't like it.
    But it will do it.

Gotta watch tongue weight and payload with passengers.

I dont have much experience with customers towing with the supercharger but I'd be watching temps and fuel consumption.

I honestly think its time for a full sized truck at this point.

You'll likely be over the payload rating when you factor passengers, gear, the quad, and the trailer tongue weight.

I towed a trailer that was 4,500lbs dry/5,500lbs loaded for about 4 years/10,000 miles in the Sierra Nevada mountains. The supercharger does help.

If you're not afraid to make the truck work it'll do it. You're going to want to keep an eye on transmission temps if you have an auto.

You can just barely pull the trailer, or you can just barely carry the ATV in the bed. Either will max out your payload. No way you can do both.

Your truck will have 1000-1200 lbs of payload, check the sticker on the drivers door jamb. A 4600 lb trailer once loaded lightly will be 5000-5500 lbs. That will put 650-700 lbs on your hitch. Add in the 700 lbs for the ATV and you're at 1350-1400 lbs. A skinny driver and passenger will be another 300. Two grown men could be 400-500 lbs. That means you'd have about double the amount of weight on the trucks suspension that it's rated for. Most 1/2 ton trucks won't do what you're wanting to do.

You'll be fine as long as you don't encounter any hills or try to stop.

what is your payload on the sticker? Its a rhetorical question. I havent seen a taco yet that would support that payload. I just upgraded to a full size truck for this reason with nowhere near your weight. Some dont care, but i do. Last thing want is insurance not to cover me for being over weights.

I am assuming your payload is tops 1100 lbs. My 2015 dcsb was 1050. Marshall R hit it, but going into more detail, you have to be honest with your weights. Everything that was added to the truck as an accessory counts. Supercharger, bed mat maybe, tools behind the seat. But with what you want, that doesnt matter, your trailer and atv will put you way over. 4600 lbs dry, will easily be 5600. 670 lbs tongue at 12%, then weight distribution, then 700 lbs atv. The math doesnt work. It should end there. Being realistic, i was over with my 4000 lb loaded trailer, wife and dog, tools etc throughout the truck. EMPTY bed

Sounds like time for an upgrade then to a full sized truck or bigger. Thanks for the help and knowledge!

yeah if youre still wanting to bring along your atv and same trailer, youre getting into 2500 territory.
