Went to turn on defrost this morning and blowed cool air. Tried switching to my vents and it just blows very very little warm air. Mostly cool air. Any ideas what would cause this ? Thank y’all in advance

Does the truck reach operating temperature? Running cold could be a tstat stuck open.

Turning dial to highest heat, directional to dash vents, do you get heat there?

First check the coolant level in the radiator. Check your heater core hoses on the firewall underneath the hood. Let the car come up to temp. and feel the two hoses. If only one of them is getting hot you may have bad heater core or a bad heater control valve

    Check your coolant level.

If it will blow heat out the dash vents you likely have a stuck or broken blend door.

If you get no heat on any settings you likely have a coolant flow problem. Collapsed hose, clogged core, etc.

If the truck isnt at 180+ temp (check with infrared) the tstat may be stuck open. The dash gauge isnt a reliable measure.

Ok verdict so far… both hoses going in and going out of heater valve on fire wall is hot. I can have vents blowing and I have very warm air. I turn knob to dash defrost with or with the floor air and I have cool air. Plenty of coolant. Plus another question what controls the cable connected to the heater valve?

Most likely a cable controling the blend door is the problem
