That frame does not look like it was replaced under recall, but was coated. Its past the date by now for frame replacement should it become an issue though.

nevermind, saw the vin in the post, looked it up on TIS and it did have the frame replaced in September of 2011. Honestly haven't seen one of the new frames with that much rust yet, Owner must not of liked to clean the truck.

    I have a similar truck.

    No intermittent wipers
    Black gauges
    2.7L
    No tach
    No clock.

That said, mine has cold A/C, a must have out here.

Also the no intermittent wipers doesn't bother me at all. Rains 8 days a year. If it rains=I stay home, as does my vehicles.

I don’t think the 2.7 is the same engine across 3 generations.

I'd buy it at that price! Shoot, maybe I'll call them tonight... :boink:

Even without the A/C $7000 is a very fair price.

I believe this is the "Utility Package" trim of taco. It's a basic work truck variant.

They still have this option package with newer trucks
    http://www.roadandtrack.com/new-car...ta-tacoma-for-less-than-its-23300-base-price/

the frame, though.... looks bad and it is on its second frame...
Wow, they seem to rust just as bad... I thought they corrected this issue in the newer frames, but it seems they didn't :/

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Lack of A/C is a deal breaker for me on a daily driver. That's a must have!

Its worth as much as some fool will pay for it but man, 7K is mad steep. Thats high mileage 2wd V6 crew cab money for a rusty regular cab I4.

If you think that is rusty, you should take a look at winter ridden parts of the country where they use salt like Syracuse, Buffalo NY or Erie PA.

Same here. Not to mention no resale here.

I have had 1 car in my life with no AC. It took me almost 11 months to sell it. Never again.

It's called TIS. It's something dealers have access to. Show service history, recalls, and other stuff.

Too much for my blood. Lots of corrosion under the hood, leafs, shackles, bumper, wheels, wheel wells, Etc. If they replaced the frame, you know it was pretty bad under there. I'd pass on that one personally, but I've got rust phobia.

Base model single cab that is a 4x4.
It was likely traded in for around $3k and the dealer is doing what dealers do best....raping the customer.

I would not spend more than $4k for this particular example. All that rust scares the shit outta me. Imagine what you CANNOT SEE.
Changed my mind, I don't think I would even want this truck. Looks like a headache waiting to happen. They call rust "cancer" for a reason. There is no cure for it and it spreads.

Think I've been spoiled living in rust free Southern CA

That's the big thing for me. I would've bought it and installed my old Pioneer single-DIN head unit (which has USB and Bluetooth); Then I would have garaged my 2nd gen for the winter, and driven this instead; then come spring I would have sold it...

But, no A/C! I guarantee you that anywhere South of Massachusetts, it'll take as long to sell this as it took you to sell your car...
