The trucks are worth what someone is willing to pay for it. There are people out there that will pay those prices.

I really don't see how the grid is going to handle the switch to electric vehicles as they are pushing them hard. We have issues today with power in the summer as it is now. Imagine everyone coming home and plugging in. We are just moving one problem to a different area.

It's a mint used Tacoma. Don't see how that dealer is being an asshole. What price do you want them to ask? They can ask whatever they want and then up to potential buyer to decide what they want to pay for it. I'm sure the couple that traded it in didn't call them assholes for getting a presumably very nice trade in offer on it.

The blame for this mess (in our society today) isn't on dealers.

Prices are just crazy right now. Especially used. But dealer markups suck as well. Most place here in Northern VA have them

Agree with what you say, but I'm more talking about buyers who were all in on a truck at $3.50/gal move to a CUV or hybrid wagon that gets >30mpg at $6-7/gal. Or holding on to their current vehicle since the overall cost to own has skyrocketed.

It’s easy. Step 1.See ridiculous overpriced used Tacoma. Step 2 tell the dealership to go F themselves. Step 3 walk away.

im sure it gets mentioned on this forum a lot, but https://markups.org is super helpful for figuring out what dealers are doing MSRP
Tacomas aren't really hard to find at MSRP anymore as long as you are willing to look out of state, unless you are looking for something super specific like a manual transmission in a particular color

HOLY CRAP! That is absolutely insane; A little over sticker is understandable for a really desirable vehicle is one thing, but ten grand over sticker a Highlander and a RAV4?!?! The worst I've seen around here was twenty grand over sticker for a new Bronco, at a Ford dealer in Doylestown also owned by Fred Beans...

Pricing on the Sienna has also been insane. I think we are in our little world where Tacomas are these special rare gems but the masses buy minivans and SUVs. There’s a lot of demand there.

Agree. All cars are right now. Just saying if one is locked to tacomaworld they think the 2022 Tacoma they're looking at going big on at 2-5k over MSRP is a rarity destine for classic status when they guy looking at a RAV4 is or minivan is up against the same wall.

Yep truck prices will definitely drop as there is no end in sight for high gas prices.

Everything has a breaking point though, its going to be coming to buying food or fuel so anything with bad gas mileage is going to drop in value.
