Tri color badging on the grill are becoming the new raptor lights. They're popping up everywhere it seems and getting close to being overdone.

I do like the color badging, but it's one subtle thing; If you want to see overdone, there's an Inferno 2016 DCSB brodozer that I've photographed twice in the last five years floating around my stalking thread...

The ban comes from, no insurance, no drivers license, in Minnesota the have special license plates call whiskey plates, they start with a W on it. It gives law enforcement the right to pull over the driver just for the hell of it. The state does not have to license the car. North Dakota can require proof of insurance before registration. Minnesota after 3rd DUI driver forfeits the car or vehicle use in commission of offense. For every amount over 2x,3x is another DUI.

    @shakerhood

I found two new Tacos on the lot at Thompson; I was shocked to actually find a new Access Cab (as opposed to a DCSB)!

Very nice. And that MSRP for a SR5 is $39 more than the MSRP was on my '20 SX!

Thompson Toyota has this obnoxious habit of putting thousands of dollars worth of marked up upgrades on SRs, but it looks like they finally picked a more worthwhile truck; It's an OR!

I was tempted, as this is the only dealer in my area that doesn't seem to be charging above sticker; However, I've put too much money into my truck to justify buying a new one...

Real tempting if you could get it at that price. But you're much smarter to be saving for your house.

And with the 2.7L, that'll be gone by the end of the week; Also, I'm trying to avoid being seen in the showroom at Thompson for a little while, because I had an incident at the dealership not long after the pictures were taken that ended with me flipping off a salesman...

    Not from him... :D

So, I was drving through the dealer lot. There is no posted speed limit, so I was going maybe 15, which is the speed limit in my neighborhood; A family had been in the process of buying a brand new Highlander, which was parked in front of the main showroom building. The salesman in question was outside, but the coast appeared to be all clear; All of a sudden, the daughter of the family buying the Highlander jumped off the curb from behind the SUV and into the road. It scared the shit out of me, and purely out of reflex I slammed on the brakes hard to enough to make the tires squeal, even though she was to the side of my truck and I didn't actually come close to hitting her. The salesman started screaming at me to slow down and how it was seven miles an hour in the parking lot; There are absolutely no posted speed limits on the property that I am aware of, and I was almost mowed down by a speeding salesman on the same part of the same property earlier this year.

I don't care how at fault I am in any situation, but if you immediately start screaming at me, anything even remotely resembling diplomacy goes right out the window; It is an autism-related trigger of mine that my therapist is currently helping with. I didn't initially freak out at this guy, and in all honest I was just so speechless at this guy screaming at me that I drove off at first. There was no crosswalk and no stop sign or anything; I could see the guy still glaring at me in my rear view mirror, so I stopped and yelled out the window "She jumped out in front of my truck!" His response was to yell "slow down" again, so I extended my arm out the window and flipped him the bird before driving off.

My friend who also owns a 2nd Gen 5-lug RC works as a technician in that dealer's service department; I told him about the incident and he thought it was hilarious. I was also told him about my truck occasionally misfiring. He has this special kit for cleaning the injectors out and believes that is what my truck needs, so I am meeting him after work at this same dealer where I flipped off the salesman! Luckily, I will not have to be anywhere near the showroom...

I had a similar incident lugging my 15-foot kayak from dock to truck. A bunch of kids wouldn’t get out of the way despite telling them nicely to stand clear. They only moved when I yelled at them to “Get the fuck out of the way”. It was only then that one of their dads appeared and took issue with me cursing them. Where was he when his kids were REALLY at risk?

I would call the dealership and make inquiry including the price like nothing ever happened. And then go down and close the deal. If anyone questions you, you can say that you were shaken up and very upset by the girl who nearly ran into your path and offer a polite apology.

    “safety is no accident”

Your dollars are just as valuable as anyone else’s.

The irony here was that it was the salesman who decided to involve himself, and the girl's parents were nowhere to be seen!

“The irony here was that it was the salesman who decided to involve himself, and the girl's parents were nowhere to be seen! “

You share a common concern as the salesperson. Maybe try an approach such as “we were both pretty upset when that young girl nearly ran out in front of my truck. Can you believe how careless her parents were?”

And then pivot, “so glad no one got hurt. Now how about that 4-cyl Taco?”
