Common issue. Go into settings and select language to ALGONQUIAN. It will then recognize Mahican words, like Mohegan sun.

I thought Entune was fully up to date using the Update function OTA when one was available. But after the last Android OS update, I was getting a stupid long lag for phone functions. On the order of a minute or longer.

This site was posted in another thread:
    https://securedp.toyota.com/download-app/getHeadUnits

The update that I got was newer and seems to have solved the issues. You might want to give it a try?

I did not follow the instructions to do the update with the engine running. Just the key in the On position. My battery is still strong. It does take a while (5min?) for the update to load.

Hopefully it works for you. I've never had voice commands work for me on any system other than my phone (google assistant), which as been stellar. My fam and friends are similarly impressed with Siri (I just wish her tone wasn't so bitchy).

I used Entune mainly for the BT connection, front and rear camera display, and (rarely) navi. So in my case, I really want BT to work smoothly.

I rarely use voice myself, i drive tow truck for a living (18yrs and ~750k mileage) i know most of New England like the back of my hand but sometimes when I’m in unfamiliar areas it would come in handy!

After picking up my Tacoma this June I picked up a new iPhone 8 and have had ZERO issues...very seemless. What model iPhone do you have? I have yet to try voice commands, if it is anything like Comcast (Xfinity) I'll start yelling at my Tacoma and HATIN on it, and I don't want that...

They all have a CD player. I personally have not used one in about 5 years and would not be surprised if they are next to impossible to find in any vehicle in the next 5-10 years.

I had to get the 8 since the Tacoma had the Wireless charging pad. Glad to see another NE here...was just at Mohegan last Saturday.

Was there for Jeff Foxworthy myself...recommend good eats at The Lansdowne Irish Pub & Music House & Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana if you like a NYC style pie.

I am the proud and satisfied owner of a 2010 Tacoma (2nd Gen)! My dad bought me this truck brand new in September 2009 when I got my learner's permit, and it has served me faithfully for the last nine years. The title was formally signed over to me in 2016 and it is now legally my truck to do with as I please.

My truck literally just turned over 90K in the wee morning hours of Thanksgiving, and since March 2018 it has had more than $3,000 worth of work done to it (Front and rear brakes, air-conditioner, fluids). I also just dropped about $600 on upgrading the stereo system.

My truck is a base model, but I added intermittent wipers and a backup camera.

My parents want me to get a new vehicle with all of this new safety stuff like automatic braking and blind spot assist. I have good credit, but dad will cosign for me so I can get the best interest rate. However, it is my ultimate goal to buy a house or a condo before I turn 35, and I'd rather drive my current Tacoma than that's mine with no strings attached than have monthly payments for the next five or six years!

I think I could get about $9,000 for my current Tacoma in a private sale, but I love my truck and really don't want to get rid of it. About the only thing my truck lacks that I really want is 4WD.

    The big question is:

Is TSS worth selling a perfectly good truck with less than 100K miles and buying a new one?!?!

The goal is to never have to use the Safety features. Too many people have become dependent on this stuff. I have it on my truck, and it doesnt really do anything for me. The Blind spot monitor is sort of O.k., the backup camera is nice but you said your current has that. If you like what you have and its still doing well, keep it. The safety stuff is here to stay so in the next year or so you will still have it available on a new truck if you feel the need.

Do you live in their house? Will they kick you out if you say no? No sense in adding 20k of needless debt if you're happy with your rig. They should buy one for you to put miles on while you keep your truck parked and covered, if they think it's that important.

I think you have your priorities in order. If the current truck works for you, no reason to add a payment.
