I was browsing my local Craigslist for a bed cover and a guy is selling one at a decent price with TACOMA stamped into it. Is this the one the factory offers? Is it still a BakFlip? If so, which model and what is a decent price to offer?

His pictures look like he is using a flip phone.

That appears to be the factory cover. I am not sure exactly what the cost of it is because it is in a package, but I think it is around a 700 dollar difference between the tow package and tow package with cover. I don´t have the numbers in front of me right now. However, if you get this cover you will also want to arrange a bed cap swap or you will have to cut your current caps. Something to think about there, which means if he pulled that off his truck, he has notches in his cap. You will also need the hardware, so make sure you are getting the whole package, not just the cover.

Seems like a bit too much trouble... why would they design it to change the caps...?

There are notches cut in the caps to expose the pins for the cover to lock down on.

No problem, this is what the forum is all about. Good luck.
