Hey everyone , i just recently learned of a Toyota TSB issued a while back to address weak rear shocks/leafs. I have a 2005 DCAB LB SR5 and it only has the 3 leafs. I just emailed toyota but with 68K on the clock im not sure if they will replace them... here's hoping, anyone have the leafs/shocks replaced recently in their tacoma ?

Search away and you'll find hours of reading on this subject.

Also, the TSB is considered warranty work that is limited to 3yr/36,000 miles.

Toyota has very good customer service though and i'm hoping they will honor the TSB regardless.

Read the numerous threads on this site about this subject. It doesn't hurt to try but you'll most likely be denied due to the age and mileage of the vehicle.

Ride Rite Air Bags and Bilstein 5100's is how I solved my 2005 DC Tacoma soft rear end... Complained about the bottoming-out to the service dept. at my dealer, no help offered... I didn't know about the TSB, and so I took it upon myself to fix it... and after some debate on progressive leaf springs (Deaver) vs. Air Bags (Ride Rite Air Springs), I went with the Ride Rites.

Took them off when I traded the '05 for then '10, in case they hadn't fixed the springs after 5 years (the new ones are better)! Still have them in a box in my garage... waiting to see if I want them on the new truck.

With a puff of air you can quickly adjust firmness and ride height... I was usually set at 25 psi, but 15-45 psi was my range... No need to have any more, seriously!
