True, still seems fishy to me. Brand new trd pro, stuck in the sand, left there. There had to of been a tow truck in the area to pull him out. It would of taken at least a hour or 2 with a few people to take all those parts out, they would of waited till the tide is out enough to get the parts. Where was the owner? Why was he not right there waiting when the tide was going down with a tow truck ready. If my truck was stuck anywhere, I would be on the phone right away with every tow shop to pull it out right away. No way would i leave it.

There are no foot prints in the sand either, so either the tide came in one more time, or the people that stole the parts did it while the truck was still under water. You would imagine there would be a fairly large amount of foot prints around it if they had to dig out the tires to pull them off. Digging the wheels out under water would take for ever. Every time you dig away some sand, more sand washes into the hole you made.

I guess someone could of swam out there with tools to take it apart under water, but that just seems like a bit much.

If you unbolt the doors and unplug them, but leave 2 bolts in (but loose) then close the door its super easy to pull off in 30 seconds. Seats you unbolt and leave them, then just grab and go. Fenders same thing, unbolt everything but 2-3 bolts.

Minimum wage in mexico is $5 a day. They took over 1000 days worth of work off that truck. I'm sure they could figure it out.

Hopefully it was the owner that was able to get those missing parts off before the Taco turned into Toyota's first submarine. If all recovery hopes were lost (for whatever reason) then picking parts off before swimming with the fishes isn't that crazy....

These guys are amazing! I’d hire them to work in my shop in a New York Minute!

Not enough credit is being given to them, I mean my guys are always crying and complaining about the weather, working conditions, they need more tools, more time etc, etc, and here these guys just strip a whole frigging truck in the frigging ocean.
Oh well, assuming this story is true, these guys are better than Houdini could ever hope to be lmao!!

I think you are underestimating the power of my people. In my hometown we have a set of pretty dangerous curvy roads leading to it and whenever one ends up flipping you have a lot of people scavenging whatever they had. They are like rats no one ever knows who they are and live in the middle of nowhere too

The real question i who would want the body panels and seats after they've be soaked in salt water?

Salt does awesome shit when it gets into body seams and the seat frames nope.
