    Folks,

    I am installing FJ40 tail lights on my 07 Tacoma. They will sit below an aluminum bed that I just installed.

    Two questions:

    1. Can anyone help me confirm the function of each colored wire?

    Passenger side:
    white/black = ?
    green = ?
    blue/yellow = ?
    red/white = ?
    blue = ?

    Driver side:
    white/black = ?
    green = ?
    blue/black = ?
    red/white = ?
    blue = ?

    2. I wired the FJ40 lights to the connector, following the colors on the OEM tail lights. I notice that there is a ground (white/black) for EACH bulb, but on the FJ40 lights, there does not appear to be a ground.

    As they are wired currently, when I turn on the lights, both the tail and turn lamps come on. When I turn on the emergency lights (hazard flashers) both the tail and turn lamps come on.

    Your assistance much appreciated. Thanks,

    Forget it y’all. I’m going to drill out the FJ40 bulbs and install the OE Tacoma bulb bracket assemblies.

    White/black will always be ground on these trucks. The reason you got wonky results is because you had no ground connection.

    Passenger side:
    white/black = ground
    green = tail
    blue/yellow = right turn
    red/white = reverse
    blue = brake

    Driver side:
    white/black = ground
    green = tail
    blue/black = left turn
    red/white = reverse
    blue = brake
