Tacoma Tailgate Remote

I’m new here and New to my 2023 Toyota Tacoma. Please let me know if anyone has installed the remote tailgate unlock on a 2023 Tacoma 4x4 Sport. I hate haven’t to use the key inserted in the fob. Thanks

 

There are a number of threads in the 3rd Gen forum. I bought an OEM version and the directions are very clear. The kit is not designed for any trim level below TRD, so you'll have to figure out how to strap it to the frame, but it's not a big deal.

There are also some good YouTube videos on installation.

It's a lot more convienent to lock and unlock the tailgate than using the remote. It's also a pretty good way to keep the tailgate from being stolen because you're less likely to forget to lock it.
