It's location... I'm in a smaller Pennsylvania city, with less traffic and most likely less property crimes too. Reasons why I'd not want to live in the big city

I usually just leave it "parked" on Jerome Ave in the Bronx and Poof!! It disappears except for the frame sitting on old milk crates. Ends up looking like a million red ants attacked it, everything gone except for the bones...

A fat insurance check follows shortly and I'm in a new ride ;-)

The H-key and the OBDII thefts are separate techniques. See below video for the H-key. No OBD2 defeat necessary:

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Kaw3XMyQPm8

For the OBDII technique access to the inside of vehicle is gained by breaking in and using a computer or device to override the vehicle's computer and "tricking" it to recognize a key that is not present. See video below:

Same. If someone stole mine I’m sure I could find something to spend the insurance money on.

On your fob, press lock and while pressed, press unlock twice. The red light will flash two times twice to confirm.

That video shows an attack on a "proximity key" system where the vehicle is listening for the key-holder to come close to the car. The guy by the door is holding a repeater that is amplifying the signal from the key that's on the table in the entrance hall.

The H-key is not a proximity key system, you need to press a button to get it to transmit the unlock code. I don't think my truck is vulnerable to it.

Oh, good thing I always lock my truck. I have two surveillance cameras on the driveway, but any thief who is sophisticated enough to pull this off is going to be wearing a mask or balaclava. The footage may be useful for the insurance claim.

I'd be more worried about a competent Tow truck driver stealing your truck especially one with PPI experience . With proper training and using a roll back or wheel lift and Go - Jack's your truck is gone in a matter of just 2 -3 minutes

Wheel lift and go Jack's to get it out of the driveway then down the street

I think even with H key someone could capture the remote code. It would be much more difficult since they would have to capture it when you press the button in a parking lot or something. More difficult to accomplish.
Smashing a widow and program a key would work faster.
