So I decided to make a Bed Tire Rack for my 3rd Gen Tacoma. After searching and not finding exactly what I wanted, or it was just to expensive. I jumped on a CAD program to design something. Here’s the CAD design and how it’s
Going so far after welding together some metal…
I ended up using 1/16 thick, 1.5 x 1.5 inch square tubing and although it seems thin, it’s actually really sturdy. The “L” Brackets are 6 inches long and 3/16 thick.
Next design I’ll try 1/8 thick, 1 x 1 inch square tubing. That would just be easier to weld.
I’m still not 100% sure I’ll weld the other bar running across the top to mount a LED Chase Bar or Light Pods. The bottom plate is to mount a ProEagle Style off-road Jack. But decided to go another route on that.
