Yes. Three months later. It was on the dealer I traded in intos site for $35,995. because they put $32,900 into it tie trade me out of it for my ZR2. At 60 days they send it to their other store and it was listed for 29,990 there. So I had them transport it back up cause I could make a deal work buying it at 29,990 while carrying my significant negative equity.

I used to work for the dealership. I'm at another one now but have bought several cars from them and know a lot of the guys there like family.

 

Gas. That's why the 8-speed had problems from day one. They filled it with the trans fluid they put in the 6 speed that goes behind the diesel.

Small sample size and all, but this sort of stuff validates my utter lack of regret for going with a Tacoma over a Colorado or pretty much any other truck. The newer domestics are so focused on the whizbang window dressing bullshit (which sells) that they seem to forget what makes a truck actually good. You know, to not break, and be useful at trucky things.

 

I wonder how far this thread would have continued with the ? if you wouldn't have come in here and clarified this thank you!

So they repaired a vehicle under warranty? I also have a family member with a yukon Denali and he had to have his 8 speed tranny replaced with less then 50k on the odo. Didn’t cost him anything, but sure doesn’t make me want to buy a GM.

 

Last update I read from a few days ago said they were waiting for a radiator and tubes, I'm sure it's all under warranty since it' brand new.

 

Dig deep enough, and talk to enough people you can find fucked up shit on anything man makes. Shit happens.

Interesting, i also traded in my 16 tacoma for my zr2.
Tacoma had 20000km when traded. 3 oil changes was the cost of ownership. New truck, shouldn’t have issues right?

Zr2 has 5000, no issues yet but its still young.

I still haven’t decided if it was the right decision. If i had bought the 4door shortbed trd offroad instead of access cab. I probably would still have it.

Both trucks have there positives and negatives. Its all personal

I find the zr2 better to drive in every situation so far. But it also cost 10k more which gives you the nice suspension etc. Put 10k into the tacoma and it would be better


Zr2 has 285/70 duratracs on it now. Took all of 2-3 hours of trimming and testing to get them to fit. Tacoma owners cant say that.

Im mixed about, i saw a trd pro the other day and thought wow thats a nice truck. But it was used and a 2017 and my new 2018 zr2 cost less so.

And the zr2 resale is unknown yet. I don’t think it will compete with tacomas
