The ad says it has 62K miles? Why not go new? Not trolling, serious inquiry.

I get that, but at 62K there is no warranty left.

I bought it with 50k miles on it. Toyota certified for 7yr/100k. That is still in effect. I could buy a new one for 33800 but them add roof rails, skid plate, bilsteins 5100s and AAL and I'd be another $2,000 up. And would get 2500 less for the ZR2 trading at a Toyota store.

I could get the most out of the ZR2 by trading it back to a Chevy dealer. Which was still a $8000 hit btw.

Gas crew ZR2'S are bringing a whopping $33k at auction... I called five wholesalers and pulled auction reports (which there are few of...) and 33k for gas and 35k for diesel is the number. I jumped on 35,500 from my dealer. He did me a favor giving that.

Ok, fair enough. I was just curious about the scenario. Tbh, the whole situation sounds like hell to me. Hopefully it goes well for you. Good luck.

It's also easier to absorb some of that negative equity into a used car than new.

By the way, I can't imagine something worse than Entune. I'll have to check out this Mylink to make me feel better.

Wow what a crazy story, sorry you went through that Szb. The Zr2's look pretty good overall, but I'm surprised the reliability is that bad.

I'll be really interested to see how the mid sized market looks in a few years when the ZR2 has been out for a while, the TRD Pro will have it's "update"...whatever that means, the Ranger Raptor will hopefully be out, and maybe even that Jeep pickup.

    Fun times ahead

That's an interesting story for sure, and sorry for having to go thru it and take the financial hit.

I maintain the Tacoma is still the 'least worst' mid size truck out there. A couple of guys at work have the Colorado and have had endless stupid problems since day one.

I also get why you'd go for your own truck back. Your miles, and you know the history

Yeah, that's what I'm hoping. I don't have any brand loyalties, so it'll be really nice to see what more competition brings.

Like the prodigal son, Welcome back home!

There’s a reason Toyota became numero uno against all odds.
I’m not really a Toyota loyalist, but I am loyal to my wallet and my wallet always says buy Toyota. Dollar per dollar its just a better (quality) bang for the buck. After doing extensive research into all that goes into a vehicle apples to apples, Toyota always wins for me.

That is not to say I haven’t strayed and bough other brands, indeed I have fallen for the beauty queen only to find it skin deep and after many heart breaking disappointments, I always find the right way to go.

    Good call!
    Cheers!

You're surprised that the reliability of a GM vehicle is bad?

Im not saying GM reliability is good or being biased but im still confused as to why it was traded in.

Trans fluid yes, they but the 6 speed fluid in the 8. Not reliability just a mistake

Multimatics were clicking, i agree should be replaced. They have had some issues with them.

Leather seats were wearing, sucks. Would be annoying if that happens to me but seat covers are an option, but i also looked at a trd pro with 50000km and the seat was pretty wore aswell. Have to take care of leather.

Radio freezes etc. You do have to update these with the dealer unfortunately

Everything else you heard about or speculation
And look at the truck, it screams bad gas mileage. But i can get 16-17mpg with 33s without an issue so its all how you drive.
