I have a 1998 Tacoma v6 manual and Im going to be towing a boat from san Diego to lake Powell this summer with gear in the bed of the truck, the boat weighs about 1600 LBS. this is a very hot drive and i'm wondering if i will have any problems with overheating or anything on this drive? thanks.

    You should be just fine.

A friend tows his boat to Powell from Phoenix - he's got a 20' Malibu, way more weight than your boat. He says it's slow but no issues.
