Agreed 100% need mirrors and I think its kind of crazy that paying $2100 dollars and the doors still dont come with mirrors. I'm almost positive we will include them with ours. Its like you said a necessity

Also if you added in some design aspect that allowed the easy addition of say, handles, or a cupholder, just accessory things people might enjoy having on their doors considering interior storage kinda sucks in these trucks.

Yeah, It does and that's why I personally would like them to have some sort of modular storage or even like interior waterproof pouches that clip on and a cup holder that snaps in with ease or something like that !

    Molle panels on the interior?

    Like, so many.
I like the idea of them, I just don’t think it would be easy to take them on and off. If it were easy, I’d be in.

No need for anything fancy for the hinges, just notch your hinge like this. This allows you do thread in the top bolt halfway and drop the door into the hinge. You don't have to wrestle it around trying to align it. I had tube doors and currently have half doors and it would be pretty much impossible to do alone otherwise.

Yeah possibly ! I love the molle panels cause that makes it about as modular as it comes you can mount anything from bags to gun holsters so that may be a great option !

We want to make something that of course will be easy to take off and put on without hassle if it be a bracket that goes on to the factory door hinge that also bolts up to the doors themselves to allow like a slide in kind of like the jeep or something but that's what R&D is for to find out what works best but first want to hear the needs and wants from the community !

    Thought popped into my head

Ford thought of this with the bronco: where the hell are you putting the doors?

The Bronco has a rack/storage area in the back. Would be awesome to set up a bed rack/bed storage system for the doors that you could put the frame doors into when you're not using them, and would hold the Tacoma doors when you want to put the frame doors in instead.

I wouldn't even take the doors or hard top off the new Bronco 2dr, if I had one. Cool as it would be, I don't know how well the doors would line up reinstalling them.

They're removing their doors completely. The thought behind this is swap the doors out and leave the originals at home.

The fab doors are ugly as hell IMHO. Don't flow at all.

Bonus points if you make them compatible with our stock mirrors. I have towing mirrors on right now so if you want to borrow some mirrors for R&D let me know.

I agree I was thinking the same thing to run a rack that bolts up to the bed bolts to store the doors and can also just be used in a garage setting maybe an option that can be sold separate for the people that want to store the door in the truck if you're in an area that gets rain at random time or whatever the case may be just swap the doors real quick and you're good to go !

Part of the reason for this is because the doors are designed to be easily taken off and stacked in the first place with probably not too much effort. The doors on the Tacoma are not designed around this philosophy and probably require significant work to take off. Not something you'd wanna casually do just before hitting the trail, and then before you get back on the road......also then you have no bed space for your spare, or cooler, or whatever...

how much does the factory doors support the a pillar during roll over protection? most people taking doors off have added rollover protection and are intentionally placing themselves in harms way. your company must be willing to face these issues and also resolving side impact protection. My access cab has no mid door post and is not retained once the door is open. what happens to all the safety systems once the door is removed? the door open ding would drive me nuts. If I were independent operator and willing to accept the liability I would make weld it your self kits and figure a good hinge kit to add to the pillar and retrofit the factory door and the tube doors so they are truly swap able in a moments notice.

Fair enough - I would want to have the option to hot swap a door or two though, just giving input. I would love to do a cross country road trip and have them on or off depending on the mood.

Also fair points - they're not designed for that hot swap so it will be difficult, but just an idea. Maybe the rack for the doors is an added cost for those that want it and not a requirement.

I’m wondering how difficult it is to remove and reinstall factory doors. Anyone know?

Yeah that's why I posted the jeep core doors. They can be completely opened and then if you want you can add the panels to close them a bit, and attach a window if you want to close them completely. It would probably be harder to do a window with the taco though.
