So I was able to find those plugs but we have 2 sinilar ones, does the order matter?

Also for the z link connection(carplay/auto) that ends in a usb port, are we connecting the phone directly there or are we connecting it to the tacoma's green harness through the usb adapter? I'm guessing it's theater since it would make the usb port on the tacoma functional as the android auto connection.

Thanks so much for your help!

Yes, it has two that are exactly the same. It doesn't matter which one.

For convenience test what USB cable works with your phone and map that one to the oem plug. The other two I left them hanging through a spare position in front of the shifter. I will eventually order a plug that fits the dash on ebay.

    ...getting there!

Just to report back, the HU is up and running now, took it on a little trip earlier and it's working great!

One thing to note is that reversing track reversal made my reversing track literally backwards so maybe the newer units are calibrated correctly from factory.

Overall the installation wasn't that bad but the lack of instructions in the box made figuring out a couple of these connections a not so easy task, really gotta thank @delonix!! This is exactly what I was looking for, an android capable HU that looks OEM and the best part is that it's optimized for Toyota!

Let me know if you ever figure out a good dual usb plug for the aux ports, I looked around but none were plug and play.

I put the extra usb from my joying headunit (mine only has 1 spare after the OEM one is used) in the glove box. I can plug in a external hdd and leave it in the glove box.

    Nice!

I ended up buying the one you linked since I probably didn't need 2 but i might put my dremel to use and do this as well lol.

What did you use to attach them?

Has anyone got this up and running to replace a stock jbl unit? I don’t want to throw money on this and it not work.

In the next few weeks I will have a jbl truck coming by for me to do tests on, so stay tuned, we will get something figured out hopefully by the end of the month.

I'm using a different Android head unit, but will be the same idea.

Hello I'm new to the group! Loving this upgrade and debating to get it. How is the Unit holding up? Are there instructions on how and where to plug?

Hi, so far so good. You can't get the plugs wrong, every plug has only one place to fit. You can look st the pictures of the posts if you have any doubts. Also if you have any questions feel free to ask.

True. I was reluctant to switch to my android headunit because I liked the HD radio on the factory unit. But I did end up switching and it was the best choice I made. I download songs onto my 2tb external drive that plugged into the headunit and listen to anything I want.
