    Steve,
I saw yours at Hurlbert's in Epping last fall. They have a (one) black double cab coming in the end of March. Grappone has a white double cab coming in the same time. Maybe I'll wait if it's true they are building the extended cabs now. If anyone see's a Red Baja extended cab anywhere in New England post it!!!

You might have seen the auto. I bought mine last july. They had 2 blacks I bought the 6 spd. The white one looks pretty good. I've never seen a red one in person.

Took one for a test drive the other day. They wanted $39k for the thing with auto and entune. A little too much for my blood. I do have to say the ride comfort was better (around town) than the stock TRD off road. My truck is on order and coming end of April or early May. Getting the extended cab with 6 speed and was quoted $32.

A picture of the test drive truck:

So the Baja comes with what's about 30" tires, right? With the stock Baja suspension and wheels, can we put 33" tires on it without any problems?

Can anyone provide me the name of the dealership you've seen these at? Preferrably in Cali, please.

To be more to the point: Would it be a problem with 285/75/16 BFG AT tires on a stock Baja?

I had 265/75-16's installed on my truck at the dealer before I picked it up. They will catch the plastic deflectors at the front of the front wheel wells under just the right conditions. They are also very close to rubbing other areas when turning.

    285/75-16's won't fit.

i have 265/75/16 Duratracs with 5100s set to 2.5" and wheelers 1.5" progressive AAL packs. 265/75's are the perfect size for articulation, i think.

There 20 white ones in the Gulf States region. White in Arlington, Tx. Has tube steps and vehicle shield. Sticker is $38.2. I priced one on Edmunds without those 2 options and looking about $37.2. Dealer is talking $2.5 off and that is just the first cut. Already told them much over $34 and I am buying a Chevy. Time is on my side.

You guys are lucky to have tacomas selling for these prices. In canada, with 40k, you get a 2013 double cab trd but nothing more.
I was quite happy to be able to get my 08 for 21k$ at the dealership with only 40000km.
Edit: not a toyota dealership though...

Just picked up my 2013 Baja yesterday! Barcelona Red, no entune, auto - $34,872.00 is what I paid on a sticker of $37,600. First three mods have been ordered. Sport grill surround and mirrors color keyed to match, and new tires. You need 1/2" spacers on front to run 285s...

That is close to the price I am going for. Looking to get $3k off MSRP or I walk. I thought about just buying a TRD and adding a lift, wheels, and shocks but by the time I add up the cost of mods I am back to the Baja price without the tire upgrade. Also, have to figure in the hassle of getting the lift installed.

I spent 2 weeks with dealer and 3 local 4x4 shops building and pricing regular and TRD Sport models and came to the same conclusion. AND have factory warranty now to.

Anyone done a Cab Mount Chop on a stock Baja?

I want to make sure that before I do this that it will then fit 285/75-16's no problem.

You don't get guarantees with modding. If you want them, modding is not for you.

265/75 16 is as big as you can go and not have any issues. This still gives you 3/4"- 1 3/8" more height than the 265/70s. Check the weight of the tire you're choosing, the factory BFGs weigh about 51 pounds. Depending on the tire chosen, I found 265/75's going anywhere from 46 pounds to 59 pounds. 1 pound of unsprung weight is equal to 10 pounds sprung weight... As if these 4.0L need any more weight...
