    I love these wheels! Are they factory TRD’s? I don’t see anything on the Toyota website that looks anything like these.

    Any information on these wheels would be greatly appreciated!

    I'd say they're either the Level 8 MK6 or FN 6 shooter(I think that's the model name) with TRD caps. Looks more like the FN's to me though

    I believe that you nailed it and that they are the FN series.

    Thanks for the quick response. Now I just wish I could figure out the tire size along with the wheel size and offset because they look perfect. If anyone has a clue on those items please chime in...

    Being that it's a T4R, I'd imagine a 17" wheel. With a 285/70 or 255/80 tire. Check the FN site. I'm not sure how many different 17's they offer.

    What size and brand of lift is that?

    Yes, was my runner. That pic was at the Mazda dealer in Houston the day I traded in for a Mazda 3 that lasted 8 months, lol.

    I currently own both... a ‘21 TRD OR Tacoma and a ‘17 Limited 4Runner. I also own a built ‘97 4Runner that I’ve had for 20 years. I love them all for different reasons. The Taco does things the 4R can’t and vise-versa. The 4R is great for my family of 4 + our dog. It also rides smoother. It’s more comfy and has more leg room. But the Taco is great for making trash runs that would get way too messy or stinky in a 4R, and it’s great for picking up 70” TVs from Target as I did this week with it. 2 things the 4R can not do well (or at all in the case of the TV). The 4R straight up handles like a damn boat on mountain roads. The Taco is more nimble on those curvy roads. The 4R is a little better in the snow though, because of its weight (and the more even weight distribution), although both are really good in snow when it comes down to it. Even though the Taco has a smaller engine, it actually puts out more HP and the since Taco is a much lighter vehicle, it feels more powerful than the 4R, stock vs. stock at least. The 4R is a gas hog... well so is the Taco, but not as much as the 4R. All in all, my family love and need both of them.

    OP - did you pull the trigger on a new rig? If so, what was your choice and how is it playing out?

    I started this process in November and it took me about six weeks of over analysis to finally decide which Tacoma I wanted - a new 2021 Tacoma TRD OR DCLB in cement. I would consider a TRD Pro if the option of a long bed was possible. I am 58 and am looking to retire at 60. I am an avid mountain biker, but also ski, hunt, fish, etc. This is going to be my daily driver and my get away have fun vehicle to enjoy my early active retirement years - til 70 I hope! I wanted a long bed with a cap so that I could sleep in the bed, secure things, and throw a deer in there occasionally. I don't need the utility of the truck bed for work or hauling purposes.

    Recently on Tacoma World I read one of the comments in the "tacoma with caps" forums as it pertained to water leaks and someone commented "why not just get a 4Runner"? My wife made the same suggestion shortly thereafter. The 4Runner seed was planted - out of nowhere - I had never even considered it till three days ago.

    I previously owned a new 4Runner in 1988 and it was a great truck (removable top) that I kept for six problem free years. My wife's sister currently has a bad ass 2019 4R TRD OR Premium that came with a 3" lift and 33's from the dealer and she loves it after driving a JK Wrangler for several years.

    So now, I have reset the thought processes with a 4Runner - most likely the TRD OR Premium. In reading these comments and others thru various reviews and videos, etc., the consensus is that most prefer the 4Runner to the Tacoma unless there is a distinct need for the utility of a truck bed. The 4Runner generally has better on road and off road capabilities, a more comfortable ride, and more interior space versus no functional bed, slightly worse mpg, and is more expensive.

    But damn! My eyes and heart are saying Tacoma because I really prefer the look of the Tacoma and I want a midsize truck, but my brain is saying the 4Runner makes the most sense all things considered. Additionally, the cost of the Tacoma + cap makes the higher cost of a 4Runner less of a difference and the GVW of the 4Runner exceeds the 6,000 lbs for the tax write off for those that are self employed and write off a vehicle. I'm not excited about the 4Runner aesthetically, however it appears to be the winning choice logically for me. Back seats down or removed, and a Weathertech mat for the rear!

    I really wanted to get out of the SUV mode now that I am at the end of my child rearing stage. I currently drive a 2016 Subaru Crosstrek, my wife has a 2019 Volvo XC60 and two of our three kids (17 year old twins) drive our 2013 Honda Pilot and our 2002 Chevy Suburban. I thought I was done with SUV's! Our Suburban would be perfect to modify for my adventures, but is 19 years old with 220,000 miles and is rusting out (Maryland winter salt). For those laughing, my three boys and wife give me a hard time for having a Subaru Crosstrek, but it has been a good and more than adequate little full time 4-wheel drive vehicle. The true 4-wheel drive vehicles that I have owned and abused over the years: 1976 & 1977 Ford Broncos (V8 302), 1988 4Runner and 2006 Wrangler Rubicon. I would really love to have that 1977 Ford Bronco back!

    Sorry for being long winded and giving too much verbiage to the 4Runner vs Tacoma debate!

    One last question! It appears that there is a greater difference in pricing for the TRD Pro to the TRD OR Premium in the 4Runner, than in the same TRD Pro to the loaded TRD OR Tacoma. There appear to be less modified 4Runners than Tacoma's.

    I personally own both a 2019 Trd pro 4runner, and a 2019 trd offroad premium tacoma. The 4runner is basically stock and the taco has a 3" lift with 33's. I like them both for different reasons however if I were to do it over I would not buy another tacoma, I would rather have two 4runners. The 4runner handles and drives so much nicer than the taco, more room, more power, and if you lay the back seats down it has more cargo space. granted I have a tonneau on the taco and dont need the bed for hauling large items, I also have a dodge 3/4ton for the real work. My .02 is drive them both and decide. Personally I have debated trading my taco for another 4runner.

    Thanks for your response! Would you recommend the TRD Pro over the TRD OR Premium? I don't envision aggressively modifying the 4Runner and the Pro would probably be overkill with the Off Road being more than adequate at the end of the day. I can take advantage of the 40% tax write off which helps offset the higher cost of the Pro. Thanks!

    Yes and no, to be honest mine is actually the trd offroad premium that I have converted to a pro. I got a great deal on the orp and bought the handful of parts that differ because i really wanted the pro. The main upgrade being the fox suspension. The suspension was a huge difference and worth every penny. However I'm not sure i would want to pay the $15k mark up of a pro. I have under $3k into the pro fox suspension, front/rear valances, grille, pro skid plate, badges, and roof rack. It is literally identical to a pro and I'm all in for about $40k.

    I drove both the forerunner TRD OR and the the Tacoma when I was shopping for my new vehicle. Came within a pubic hair of pulling the trigger on that forerunner. It was beautiful road nice handled well. It just turned out that, at the end of the day, I was after 32 years still just a pick up truck sort of guy.

    I work my truck. I just couldn’t see throwing lumber, bags of debris, concrete mix etc. in the back of a forerunner. Would’ve had to get a trailer.

    However, when I’m retired, a forerunner may be in my future :D

    I also have a 2018 4Runner Limited. I went with the Limited for it's full-time 4x4 (it also has 4 part-time and low) as it's nice for winter driving with mixed road conditions. The 4Runner is really nice to drive with great visibility, build quality, and interior room. I think having a 4Runner and a Tacoma makes a good pair.

    Very nice, give me some details on it.
    Mine is a 67 RS SS 396 now a 402 385 hp and 425 tq, 4speed, posi 12 bolt with a little 331 gear, disk break, full resto completely done.
