Last I read is that the Colorado/Canyon is axed...at least in the US markets. The redesign (which looks god awful) is only available in foreign markets.

Nope, we got paperwork at my work saying should be in sometime around September. The new developed ranger is available in foreign markets and not here. Maybe that is what you are thinking of

My cousin has an 08 Z71 Crew Cab...it doesn't hold a candle to my 12 TRD Sport, maybe the 5 cylinder sounds better?

Damnit! And here I thought once my current work truck dies I wouldn't get stuck with another one. Now it will be even worse!

Well maybe the hvac blower motor might be better. I wonder if theirs squeaks in cold weather.

Someone with a base Chevy chime in and let us know about the radio. My SR5 Taco has the base radio (with CD Changer) and it is the most unbelieveably terrible factory radio/speaker setup I've ever heard. I can't believe that thing was in a truck with a $30K sticker on it.

There's a Kenwood in there now, but come on...terrible.

So there you go, Chevy Owner. Does your base truck have a radio in it? It's probably better than the one that came in my truck.

The Z71 radio blows, I wouldn't expect the base to be better...Chevy loses again...

Nope. The blower squeaks on my work truck on 1 and sometimes 2.

They'd better have a good stereo in them, I mean what else are you going to do with a Colorado/Canyon?

Wasn't long after I bought my Tacoma that my neighbors colorado was missing and a Tacoma sport in it's place. :D He told me that the Colorado was the worst truck he ever owned. I don't recall him ever bitching about a squeeky blower motor with his Colorado if that helps.:p

It's not a great picture, but you can see it in this brochure. They've got a pool table resting on it.

    http://www.chevrolet.com/assets/pdf/en/overview/12_Colorado_Catalog_web.pdf

Basically, it locks in place at an angle, so the top is level with the flat tops of the wheelwells inside the bed.

With that feature the Colorado should have a much stronger tailgate than the Tacoma. Being GM that wouldn't necessarily be true, but giving them the benefit of the doubt that would be +1 for the Chebby.

Honestly I HATE the fender wells on all the new chevy's but personally Tacoma may weigh a little more but it has more clearance and off road my taco is BEAST! I love the yota lol and yeah it's a Tacoma forum so I am sort of bias plus I was a ford person before the Tacoma.

The taco is easier to work on in my opinion. They are both pretty simple electronically but if I had to choose it would be the taco.

The tail gate folds half way down so that the lumber sits flat on the wheel wells and the tail gate. Its pretty nifty really. My brother has a 2010 z71. The build quality is not as good as the tacoma. But it is equipped with almost the same stuff. Rear locker on his. Both trucks have about the same capability. He has leather heated seats. I wish mine were heated. Mine are a lot more comfortable though.

Really?? Why would anyone even CONSIDER buying a Colorado/Canyon? Just look at it, it's ugly and you can see how poor the quality and engineering is. Is there even anything aftermarket for them? I never did understand why GM dropped such a long-standing, loyal-following model such as the S10/S15 and replaced it with such an ugly POS...

This thread is a no-brainer. Tacoma, enough said.

I looked hard at used Colorados before buying my truck. I like their styling and of course V8 :stirthepot:
