Why would a car with such terrible crash rating be ranked car of the year? I feel a pay off!

Truck of the year from who?

Motor Trend's 2008 Truck of the Year is the Tundra and 2009 is the new Ford F-150. Previous winners were.
    2007: Chevrolet Silverado.
    2006: Honda Ridgeline.
    2005: Toyota Tacoma.

Is the difference in the weight that drastic?

I guess what he's saying is, in order for the Frontier to win an award, they had to change the name to Suzuki Equator.

no, was best new truck. but its actually a frontier, and in case the fellow posting and saying best trucks of the year, has false info. is best mid sized. there is more than one class.

did i just misheard 245 hp, isnt 236 hp... and its kinda hard believe that the taco is actually 400 lbs lighter than the frontier, i mean when you look at them side by side you would think the taco would be heavier..dimension and lenght wise

The frontiers are heavier. They do have a beefy boxed in frame and good rear axles. The V6 is very strong on paper but moving a heavier truck around. I like the Frontier, drive pretty nice too...but the interior is NASTY ASS CHEAP LOOKING!!! I love the Tacoma!!!
Resale value, Fuel economy, reliability, and fit and finish wins it hands down!

Fourwheeler magazine has picked the Frontier over the Tacoma the last few years in their 'best buys' issue, but even if every magazine out there selected the Frontier, it still wouldn't make me want one. To me, as has been said already, they are too low to the ground, and I just can't take the way that front end looks...

You aren't a fellow enthusiast, you're a troll. You joined simply to talk shit. What kind of reaction did you expect, troll?

BTW, if the '05 Altima I previously owned is any indication of Nissan quality, why would anyone want a Nissan? They're garbage. In the shop 4 times in 6 months for trans. and other problems (only 28K miles when I traded it in), horrible paint, pathetic interior quality with all kinds of noises, and exterior sheetmetal that dents if you look at it wrong. The VQ engine was the only good thing about that car.

I think the reason why most of the Magazines recommend the Frontier over the Tacoma is because of the value: Slightly better start price, a few more available options, and more HP specs. And they drive and perform decently. Its really just a matter of taste between the two trucks. They both have pro's and cons. I think one thing we all can agree on is that the Frontier and Tacoma are the best two trucks of this class (Colorado, Ranger, Dakota, B-Series) They destroy all of the others.

On the way home from my work early this afternoon, i was next to a Frontier and it looked to be no more than 2-3 years old. He was in the turning lane with an arrow while i was waiting to go forward.

I thought i was going have to help him push that thing out of the intersection. When he first hit the gas, i was looking for Fred Sanford with all the racket it was putting out in an attempt to move forward.

I hope that isn't parr for the course. Not sure what was up with that Turd...
