If its smooth comfort you want and you wear boots in NYC, go Ridgeline.

idk why everyone keeps thinking ridgeline is supposed to be an offroading truck. They never market it as some offroad beast...

it's marketed as a sensible truck with hauling/towing capabilities but a better ride than every truck in its class...

it does just that - only thing is its butt ugly

And it is front wheel drive. Drops from 6 cylinders to 3 once you get up to speed. This and the payment being higher than my new SR is why I never bought one. Loved the trunk though.

That’s a old Toyota prototype from about 10 years ago. Hyundai is going to build something like that.

This is exactly why Consumer Reports put it as #1 and berated the Tacoma for riding rough. 75% of people who buy a mid-size truck will never see dirt or any situation requiring 4wd and of that last 25%, probably half will never see anything more than a fire road or dirt road on someone's property or a bad snow storm. I'm really sketchy about buying used 4wd trucks in any area that would not commonly need it because most people don't use it frequently enough to maintain the system. Truck people isn't a utilitarian group anymore since they started focusing on comfort about 15 years ago.

The Ridgeline gives a nice ride so mom doesn't complain about it while dad gets his "truck" for hauling crap from Home Depot on the weekends. It's 100% targeted at the family and completely ignores the off-road community that wouldn't give Honda the time of day for anything that has more than two wheels.

That said, it's still a vehicular hermaphrodite, ugly as sin, and crazy overpriced.

Agreed with everything but overpriced? I think it’s on par with auto pricing these days. It’s a crossover with a bed. Seems in line with everything else out there.

I see a decent amount in my area. And it's being used exactly how like 90% of all tacomas are used for. Shuttling kids to soccer practice and back and carrying gardening stuff from the hardware store.

What difference does it make how it is used, it still doesn't sell.

 Mine is just anecdotal observation that there is a decent amount in my area. Maybe more of them sell here than say in the south or in the midwest. Just like how every other truck in HI is a taco.

The one I was looking at didn't sell because the sales guy said that the price I saw on the website is what I would pay, and they would only give me bluebook for my trade, no negotiations.

They did go backwards on the front design. I liked the 1st gen Ridgeline. It looked more truck-like. They got the bed right on the 2nd gen, but went in the wrong direction up front. If the front and rear could somehow get on the same page....I bet they'd sell a lot more.

Why do you believe that a Ridgeline is the only so called sensible truck available?
