Looks like a photoshopped Japan only van. Lots of them running around Oregon and Washington. They are comically small compared to American vans. Thought I wanted one until I saw it person.

Just got back from an Oregon/Washington trip, quite a few Rivians running around. Got to see an S model in person. Not bad, dunno…nice but is it really worth $100K by the time everything is said an done? Would see one, and go “man…could buy a hell of a lot of other stuff for the money”…as they say…it’s your money spend it however you see fit. Guess they are ok if you don’t stray too far from urban areas. This was sorta of a sight seeing tour, went a few places that were recommended to me that weren’t in the plan. Came close to running out of gas a couple times, that is with a 400 mile range, because well… don’t like to have an itinerary and lotsa places that didn’t have cell coverage…so no idea where the next fuel stop was. Good thing I always carry a couple extra fuel jugs for just incase.

Didn’t see much for charging stations in little towns, probably could bum a 240 outlet…but I dunno lotsa of hand painted signs of hate in those little shithole towns. So good luck with that! Pull up in an EV begging for juice might get you punched in the throat. lol!

Rivians are cool, was more impressed with one the guy’s Stewart & Stevenson camper. :)

If the Cybertruck actually goes into production ever. The prototypes have lost some badassness with added legal requirements like bumpers and mirrors.

You think your 6 speed shift a lot now, wait till you get a 10 speed. I would take a well sorted 5 or 6 speed auto over a 8-10 speed any day of the week. I am not saying the Taco 6 speed is well sorted, but you get the idea.

It was killer, apparently the owner built it himself. Family of 5 living in it full time.

Going out a little multi-state trip seeing all the different type of rigs running around, fully kitted Tacomas, Sprinters, 1 Tonners with slide-ins. That one stood out the most. Saw a few Earth Cruisers too.

Lotsa people running around…doesn’t anyone work anymores!? :p

The 8spd in my Ram is entirely unobtrusive to the driving experience. Doesn’t hunt, doesn’t constantly shift, stays in the gears it needs to be in, etc.

annnnd that thing makes how much hp/tq? :p

Seems to me the Taco trans only does the radical shifting with the cruise on. Mine doesn’t do it when the CC is off. Like it is battling trying to maintain speed and optimal fuel efficiency when it is on. When I pull mountain passes, have to click the CC off otherwise it is annoying as fuck. It could really use a small diesel or at least a turbo gasser to move the torque curve lower. Which from the sound of things it is getting.

My only gripe with the trans is the S mode, it would be nice if it would stay in the gear and not down shift. Believe the VWs it will stay in the gear you put it in.

Supercharger and a Yotawerks tune and you’ll be all fixed up! You can even get gear lock.

I am sure it will. That or go trade it in on manual trans model. Not much in a hurry these days, so I can deal with it. Just slowing down 5 mph seemed to work wonders. Now after having the truck for a year and 20K miles on the clock, I can see why people bitch about it. In S Mode there were some pulls it could of done it 4th, but could it wanted to downshift 3rd…alright guess we’ll do this climb in 3rd.

The 26’ Bobtail moving truck I used with the massive CAT diesel in it, did the same thing with a load, couldn’t decide what gear it wanted.
