And maybe a few other creature comforts and nice to haves that people want to spend money for.

Looks like a screen about half the size and a lot more buttons.

The Ford lightning has already been in the news that if you actually use it for truck stuff like towing are hauling the range goes down to essentially zero.

Did you watch that on Hoovie’s channel first or one of the many “news” outlets that used it as FUD?

That’s pretty much all vehicles. EVs lose about half their range when towing just like ICE powered vehicles. They are just far more of a hassle and delay to refuel.

That sounds perfect to me. I don’t want a giant screen and would rather have buttons than scroll through menus.
The more I think about EV trucks the more I think a smaller battery model is better. Why pay an extra $40K for 100 more miles of range? It’s still not enough range for long trips anyways. Get the cheap EV for trips under 200 miles and keep a gas vehicle for everything else.

What are you towing with an ice vehicle to cause it to lose half its range?

Which is a huge problem when the best battery technology Tesla has to offer charges about 200 miles range in 15 to 20 minutes.

Any of my boats or snow machine trailers with my Tacomas cut the fuel economy in half. My travel trailer with my TRX does the same

Yep. EVs are not long distance towing machines at all yet, not if you have some kind of schedule to keep.

I still don't know why Ford does not build a 145" super cab Lighting Pro work truck it's the same wheel base.

Regular cab 8' box would make the most sense.

How often do you see a crew of 4 individuals jump out of a work truck? Work trucks usually have tool boxes and racks mounted to them, and they need the bed capacity.

In half? So you get 6 mpg in the TRX?

I’m not rich and can afford one. It will still tow my boat and trailer places without problems because where I want to go is within the range of a single charge. Cross country tow like I just did last month would be a definite problem but that happens very rarely and isn’t a necessity when I do it.

I usually manage about 15.5mpg on the highway at 80mph, towing my trailer at65mph dropped that to 8mpg over my 2200 mile trip.

Look at the International MV electric trucks, under 200 miles on a single charge. That's the range coming from a traditional truck builder.

Then you have Tesla out there claiming all kinds of milage from one of their semis pulling a load.

Toyota has been around for almost 90 years. I think Toyota would have Rivian beat on number of dealerships and service centers don't you think?

$50,000 is still a lot of money, and cars and trucks keep getting unnecessarily more expensive. And it’s now impossible for people to get a good deal on a used car. None of this is a good thing.
