I’d still rather have mobile service, which is an option for some repairs on Rivians and Teslas, which Toyota doesn’t offer at all.

    Very forward thinking of Rivian.

Uh oh, was that too progressive to say? Whoops

Did we decide whether a $90k average retail truck with:
a 240 mile real world range,
    a shaky company history,
    1-2 year wait time,
    unproven reliability,

is better than a 35k econo truck with
a much slower/simpler powertrain and a long term history?

next up id like to compare a rav4 and a tesla model x.

Teslas are crap too. Look they were put together by children. Junk cars. When Toyota launches an EV Musk is either gonna begin asking Bezos for a job, or standing on the corner trying to turn tricks.

I’d rather just have a vehicle that doesn’t fall apart in the first place. So far I’ve never had a wheel fall off of anything I’ve owned.

Sure if you want the tech working on your truck outside in the rain at a brisk 40°. You gonna let them in your house when they need to shit?

No decision was made on that. Personally I wouldn't buy a first gen vehicle from a new car company regardless of propulsion method. I have driven a Tesla long term from a longer established company and I'm not interested in buying a Tesla. I am interested in buying a Toyota EV truck on it's 2nd generation. Or Nissan Leaf that has proven reliability and long term data at a cost less than the US average car cost.

Except besides actually living where there’s the biggest market for EVs and guess what, I’m not seeing any affordable electric vehicles.

The “affordable” California car is a 20 year old Toyota Corolla with an expired registration or a 2nd Gen Prius with a dead hybrid battery and a mission district parking decal from 10 years ago.

Having had 2 teslas in the last 18 months. They are not exactly junk. But compared to the two flawless tacos I had … both teslas had paint issues and some interior issues. They were minor though.
I flipped both for a profit … no interest in rolling in a 6 figure iPhone that will be obsolete in 3 years.

You’re forgetting the free flashlight, speaker and drag racing street cred you get with the Rivian. Isn’t that worth an extra $55k? :D

Yea that 140 mile Nissan queef real world range is just a chefs kiss. It’s an epic penalty box but I suppose if you have at home charging it’s quite cheap to get around in… until the battery fails in a few years like it did with the gen 1 and Gen 2s

Yea yea 8 year 100k warranty that kicks in when you have 70% or less of the already abysmal range … so you’ll have a double digit range around town shitbox. But sometimes that’s all you need

Well the point I was responding to was that there are no affordable EV's near San Francisco. You know for a fact a 2023 Leaf battery will fail in a few years?

How much is a Versa? if Nissan still makes it. or a Sentra?

So what you have to buy gas, can't believe anyone who can't afford gas is also buying a new car.
