Can you get normal wheels? Those are ridiculous. Or are the rotors really that big?

Heavy vehicle so probably big brakes. 20" wheels I think are the smallest you can get.

On the 20’s there’s about 1/2-3/4” of clearance between the caliper and the inside of the rim.

That's the down fall with electric heavier vehicle and larger brakes, not that large brakes are a bad thing. Pretty sure the Lighting gets 20"s standard, the Pro might be available with 18"s. 20"s have become almost common on F-150 for the last decade or so, you can still fit 17"s on gas F-150 that's the stard size of the base steel wheels.

They should have moved the breaks in, away from the wheels. I think there's been a few vehicles that have done that

I’m surprised that it’s only a 5 lug wheel. Also tire replacements are going to be painful to the wallet.

Probably not enough space to do that. But the 20" work and seem to articulate well into the upper wheel well when stuffing.

Maybe the electric motors use up all the room, but some trucks have moved them way in towards the center

That's more about the tire size

Tire size and wheel offset. Seems like Rivian got it right.

Tires aren’t cheap but not ridiculously overpriced compared to what I was buying for my Tacomas. The OEM 20s are $400/tire, the Coopers I used on my Tacomas are $300/tire.

The backup camera was definitely not positioned with hooking up a trailer in mind. It’s way too low and close to the hitch unlike most trucks. Still better than not having a camera at all but could’ve been done better.

Looks like in “all the way down” that you could actually hit curbs with the front bumper

Looks like it. The truck comes up with a prompt to ensure the area under the truck is clear that you have to acknowledge before it will go to the lowest setting.

None to speak of, just enjoying it for the moment.
Saw my first Rivian in the wild yesterday and I am not a fan of the style, no offense to those who like it, but the look is not doing anything for me. Some really cool features though...

You paid WAY too much for Cooper tires for your Tacoma, way too much!

Oh well. That’s right around what the 285/75/16 and 255/85/16 ST Maxx cost when I bought them.

I've seen about 6 around town and got used to it. Not the greatest but if I had the money to buy one I would when range is better. BUt the looks aren't a dealbreaker.

Awesome, thank you for your service.
Jealous of your delivery. My R1S is slated for Spring, '23.
