I still see more lifted Jeeps on the road, and Jeep sells a 392 Wrangler. Why are people choosing the 4xe? I'd guess they are leasing them, but a Wrangler seems like the most impractical if you want a PHEV. The regular 3.6 is less money if financing or leasing, and if you don't care about being practical there's the 392 Hemi for now. I'd buy cheap commuter Tesla before buying a hybrid Wrangler.

Evo A SmartCap, Cali Raised Sliders (0 degree), 2WD low Mod, Puddle Pods, 3 switch overhead panel, 8 slot middle console panel, Custom driver's switch panel, Rek Gens, 265 75 16 Falkens, lil B Bed Stiffeners, All new Speakers, Diff Breather, AC Drain, Many interior bits...
Man - I wish there was a full EV Tacoma - built as an EV from the ground-up... :pumpkin:

:facepalm:Not having a grill sure confuses traditional car & truck owners...

The R1T is not bad looking. - yes the front is odd, but I could definitely live with it. The passenger compartment is outstanding. The bed is a bit small and the accessories already included (the motorized cover - a cover I don't need or want) make it a bit awkward...
Overall, I'd get rid of some of the widgets and get smartcap to make a cap for it...

That little truck above is nice looking (as a draft) and will potentially have an interior more spacious than the Tacoma.
    - Look at the wheelbase. There is no interference with the rear seat / rear wheels' location. There is no drive train (front or back), transmission, no fuel tank, etc. Yes there will be a battery, but this is flat and potentially thin in the large area between the wheels. - And there is no driveline tunnel. I'm not saying it will be Tundra-like big, but it is interesting. I'd sure go have a look at it before poo-pooing a drawing befor it even enters production.

I went from 3 pedals and a stick to one pedal driving (in an EV for our 2nd car). I want simplicity in a vehicle - not More. I do not want to carry TWO drivetrains around instead of just a super simple low maintenance electric drive.

I love not having to fuel and not having oil changes... And having free fuel from the sunshine on the roof.

That unibody concept from Toyota is a smaller version of a Honda Ridgeline, and it's likely hood of being 100% BEV is not likely at all. It will probably first show up as a hybrid. Toyota does not have the besf track record with EV, the 1st production cars they built the wheels literally fell off.

Why would you call this concept the EPU, electric pick up, if the intent is to make it the HPU?

Well it's a concept and Toyota vehicles tend to be a lot milder that their concepts, and a little smaller for some reason. Do you think Toyota's last two concept lunar vehicles will be driven on the moon?

I’m guessing you think the lunar vehicles are to be driven on the sun and not the moon.

They don't exist like the EPU outside of a file.

Yes, and that doesn’t change what they are being designed for/their intended use case. Why would Toyota build a 100% BEV from the ground up and then put a hybrid drivetrain in it? Same reason they would design a lunar vehicle to drive on the sun…they wouldn’t.

Im not sure there is a cooler looking truck than a Tacoma. It has a very aggressive look to it.

The newest Colorado ZR2 is sharp too.

i like those TRX for full size.

But the rivian. Looks like a Kia

cool is perspective. New tundra’s are pretty nice looking. Some people like low trucks, some lifted. Some with camper caps and some with open truck beds….

the Rivian looks far from a Kia imo. Or Kia is getting impressive then…

Thought it was interesting my friends Rivian Squatted is the same height as my pro with 32's. Sadly might even be a little taller.

My Rivian R1S in “kneel mode” (for easy entry/exit when parked) with the stock 34” equivalent tires next to my Pro with a 2.5” lift and 32” equivalent tires.

Dunno. The 3G Tacoma is “ok”, like the side profile and rear, the giant grill is doofy. Find the 4G rather garish and trying too hard, bit too poser chest thumper to me. Though think that is Toyota’s target market, insecure dudes looking to prove something, what that is I have no idea. Tacoma are after-all chick trucks. Lol! I miss when Toyota was humble.

One of our clients recently purchased a Rivian SUV, that thing is sexy, sleek and polished. I like mid-century modern architecture, the Rivian is a nod to that style. This was the first time I have gotten to check out the interior in person, fantastic, much better fit and finish than the thrown together Tesla. Honestly, Telsas look like they were built in someone’s garage as a side project.

Would certainly own a Rivian over a Tacoma if wasn’t such a nightmare charging them while traveling, as trying to tow a camper is major hassle.

believe switching from lith-ion to solid state batteries would cure that fear, and the future of the company is unknown. Waiting for them to go bankrupt.

Looks like a reiteration of the A-Bat concept they did back in 2006.

No one paid $41k also “Since posting the original video with the green R1T, Matt posted two more repair clips, one with a gray R1T that had a similar dent as the green one, and one with a black R1T that had a minor dent in the tailgate, which landed the owner a $13,000 repair estimate from a different body shop.” (https://insideevs.com/news/690540/rivian-r1t-fender-bender-41k-quote-repaired-fraction/amp/) I wouldn’t make a purchasing decision based on one body shop’s inflated estimate.
