I personally absolutely positively love the Blue TRD Pro Tundra. I simply can’t afford it

I'd rather have the Tundra pro vs the Tacoma pro but that's because I'm not on small tight trails. If I were, I'd buy the Tacoma.

Gas mileage is going to be a crapshoot.

if you're gonna spend that much on a new pickup get a real truck, like a 3/4ton diesel - more truck, comparable gas mileage.
And certainly don't sell your 1st gen!!! - the only "sign" is that the greasy salesman wants it to himself

I could keep Taco but that money could make getting the TRD Pro easier (less financing). The person who inquired about my truck txt me to say he would be ready to buy July 1st. At this point I don't know about keep two vehicles, not sure if I'd be driving Taco much outside of a couple of excursions unless I then use Tundra. The space on Tundra is so so great and that is another reason, makes carrying kids and miscellaneous stuff in cab for much easier.

Actually it wasn't a salesman since dealer was closed. It was just someone who drove by and saw me with my Taco their.

I mean the price of a trd pro tundra is probably the same as a 3/4 ton diesel at comparable mpgs
Why spend more $ on a less capable truck if you're transitioning into the "full size" truck market

The 4Runner has a higher payload than the 4x4 Tundra. Hell since we're in the first gen forum, even a first gen access cab has better payload than the current Tundra.

That's really all there is to be said about why the Tundra is a pretty bad choice - all the downsides of a full-size pickup without the principle benefit.

When they get it over 2k in 4x4 trim like its competitors, I'll throw money at them but I'm not paying what they're asking for a full-size pickup that has the lowest payload and lowest MPG in its class.

Not everybody wants a diesel engine.

Comparing a 2500 to a TRD Pro Tundra is apples to oranges.

How about going up I80? (Just trying to make you feel bad because I get a loaded 17mpg on 275's).
