Tacoma wave?

I have waived at the same Cement PRO around my area like 3 times. No waive back. I came from a WRX. Every Subie with a Scoop got a wave and most waved back. Sometimes it could almost get annoying, but the Subaru community is one of the strongest ones out there.

 

yeah, my last ride was a vw R32 and the R owners waved while GTi owners usually ignored us bitterly... which was the self-entertaining inside joke i made above. anyway, there's just way too many tacos to wave. where i live it's probably 1/3 pickups. but there's an old crusty dude (just a little older than me) with a cement pro... ima seek him out and wave till he can't possibly ignore me.

 

@St.Germain - yeah I see a ton of Tacomas, but when you spot a modified one or "enthusiast" model it would be nice to share the love. I also was in the VW crowd with a old Rabbit Convertible. I got a few waves from newer GTIs. I get a lot more waves from random people who don't see a clean old Mk1 Rabbit very often or even know what it is. "Hey look an old car - Waive at it."

Not to be rude or anything, but anybody waving at me while I'm driving around the city is going to get a funny "you waving at me?" look. Had a Jeep, had a motorcycle, have a Taco, and seriously they aren't all that special and there are only about 9 million of them on the road, with me, at the same freaking time. Don't wave at me in the city unless something is wrong with my truck.

Off-road however is an other story entirely. There I wave at everybody, Taco, Jeep, ATV, hiker, motorcycle because we are all out enjoying the outdoors.

 

I only wave at ranchers, farmers, other hunters, etc when out hunting or on back roads. If somebody waves at me in the city they get the weird look.

 

In this day and age, most drivers have a phone in one hand. I'd rather not have them take their other hand off the wheel to wave back.

 

So much tacos here on Oahu, I would just stick a fake hand out like this ✋️ Lol

Had a wrx before my Tacoma. It really got annoying being waved at by every 17 yr old in a flat Bill and white sunglasses that had the same car. Maybe I'm just a dick.

 

I think it depends on where your at. When I'm in the country and driving a country road a nod or index finger waive is Ok, but when in the city if I don't know them no waive or nod to easy to get road rage.

 

Waving seems to only work with Motorcycles, Subies and Jeeps.

 

People in small towns often wave at every passing vehicle even if you have out of state plates. They're just friendly like that.

 

It's too bad most Subaru forums are so toxic. I was considering one for awhile so I joined a forum to ask some questions. Not so long story short, it kind of turned me off of getting a Subaru.

 

There is a dude at my work that drives a 16 tacoma i have the same model and spec as him but his is white I wave at him, but just becase we have actually spoken. I tried to talk to a guy in the home depot parking lot about his once, he looked at me like I was a crazy person.

 

It's kinda funny when you try to talk to someone and they're like "it's just a truck". Alrighty then.. has to be a reason you bought a Tacoma but whatever.
