Why are Tacomas so popular in Hawaii?

 

Its a Jeep thing, not a Tacoma thing!! When I get the wave while driving my Bronco, I just laugh because they don't know the difference between a Jeep and a Ford Bronco.

 

Didn’t know we were supposed to “wave” to each other if we owned the same model vehicle

Next time I drive my dads Buick, I’ll make sure to throw the deuces at all the geriatric Buick owners

I wave a every taco I see. Rarely get a wave back. Get a lot of strange looks.

 

I've been in my Camry and giving thumbs up to Taco owner .... I didn't get noticed. Forgot I wasn't in my Tacoma.

 

Got called up on HAM by the lightly built up tacoma next to me at a light yesterday, girl I was with got a little sketched out...

 

Way back in the day, I remember riding with a friend in his new Wrangler and getting the wave. I thought that was the dumbest thing in the world. Any of you wave at me, I'll run you off the road.

Reminds me of a few weeks back. Bought my taco that week and I'm driving it through town with my friend in the passenger seat. As we turn the corner, there I see a 3rd gen Inferno red parked on the side of the street. For shits and giggles, I started waving at the inferno red taco and talking to my truck "Oh hey buddy, there's one of your cousins!". My friend shoots me a WTF?! look.

Few miles later, I see another 3rd gen parked on the street, and again talking to my truck "Oh wow, look! Another cousin! He's a sporty version of you". This time, no reaction from friend in passenger seat, but i tell he's getting annoyed.

Sure as shit, I see another taco approaching. I start waving and before I can even say anything, friend in passenger seat has a mild conniption, "Awe GTFO! You guys do some sort of Jeep wave shit?! Seriously?!" LMAO for a good while.

 

Dang, this is like when the 4th gen miatas came out in like 04 or 05, on the forums back then.

 

I was about to say that around here there are a lot of Tacomas and a lot of Wranglers, and I'd be hard-pressed to say which was more.

I drive a Wrangler, have had two in the past 18 years, and don't wave. Same with Tacoma. I don't think I'm an ass, and I actually don't notice many other Wrangler drivers noticing or waving at me either, it's just that there are too many around and I'd be waving all the damn time.

 

I used to have a Nissan 370Z. You don’t see one at every other intersection, so there’s usually a wave, or a thumbs up with those owners. Shit, old people in Buicks waved at me in that, lol. It was pretty badass...

If I make eye contact with another taco driver, I do usually give the head nod.

 

New Yorkers all got there heads either up their ass or staring at there phones. I started trying this but gave up(3 jeeps during the 80’s gave me the habit)

 

I give every Tacoma I see the middle finger......especially if it’s the same colour and configuration. Like.....here I am trying to be an individual, and impress people with my good taste, and some dweeb pulls up beside me with the exact same idea......it’s like two women showing up at the staff party in the same damn dress. Not cool.
