Tacoma wheel studs compatible or the same size as any domestic vehicle?

New member here with a question hopefully the group can help answer. Today the wheel studs on one of my rear wheels all snapped off leaving me stranded in a small town. The wheel luckily did not go flying off and the truck landed it with the drum inside the wheel. The truck was towed to a small town shop in a town of typically only ford, Chevy, dodge customers. My question is, are the Tacoma wheel studs compatible or the same size as any domestic vehicles? If not I’m likely going to be here here a couple days waiting for Toyota specific studs and lug nuts. I’d really like to be back on the road tomorrow. My truck is a 2015 TRD Sport.

    thanks
    Eric

I was able to get studs from an autozone in store in a small town in Nebraska. Hopefully they can get you fixed up soon. Where are you stranded?

    One stud? I'd truck on.

I know its the internet, I have no way of assuring you. But unless you are towing or hauling the 5 remaining lug nuts are sufficient.

Dang you're out there a ways! Couple hours to Souix Falls, so even if there are no parts in town it shouldn't be hard for them to get the studs.

Also everything else looks fine. Wheel holes didn’t seem oblong and the drum looked good. Just broken studs.

I'd check the studs on all the other wheels too.

I see you just got the truck. Who knows what the previous owner/mechanic was doing.

    Holy shit!

Unfortunately Toyota studs are unique to Toyota.

If it was my truck I'd bang out 4 studs from the other good hubs and limp my way to a populated town. But this is far from safe.

    I wish you luck.

Sorry, I don't recall the stud length, but the stud is 12 mm with 1.5 mm thread pitch.

Something else is wrong. Very, very unusual for all 6 studs to break.

Definitely, inspect all the other wheels. I mean don't just look at them. Take the wheel off, take a close look at the lug nuts, studs and wheels.

I am surprised you don't report strange vibration or handling problems prior to the failure.

It did but I was convinced it was the u joint going out. Didn’t even suspect to check the lug nuts.

I’ve also been driving on some very rough roads the past couple of days.

Tacoma wheel studs are m12 x 1.5. The same size was actually used on some GM passenger models dating back to the 80s so you might have luck using a GM stud as long as it’s metric.
The doorman part number can cross reference to other parts that might fit. Their listing shows some 80s Chevy Novas used the same sized stud.

    pinstripes. lots of pinstripes.
Probably easier than walking 60 miles and back for new studs
