Tacoma with clearance lights?

Here in new York it's required by weight. All 1-ton trucks and larger must have them and 3/4-ton trucks do not require them. So even though an f250 has the same body and therefore the same width of an f350, only the f350 is legally required to have clearance lights. Also, you do not need them to plow with either.

 

the clearance lights are only for truck that can haul more then 10,000pounds?

 

true. i saw a 2500HD with out them in august.

i saw a taco with them leaving the erie county fair one night. they wear a bit to close for my liking.

 

MPO, dont care for the look, but I do however like the look of the Raptor's grille lights! Same issue as 65TacoDude, lazy! Not to mention, not that good with Auto Electrical! Have a few "LIght" ideas, just need a Tech that is affordable to help with MOD's! LMAO

I don't know so much about that, but I've seen about 3247896328745623 F-350s without marker/clearance/whatever you wanna call them lights, here where I live in New York. The family business has a fleet of F-350s, all different packages, some have them and some don't. It seems that the dually/dump trucks are the ones with marker lights... which leads me to believe it has to do with the 80 inch wide vehicle rule and nothing to do with weight..... I could be wrong though.

 

How old of f350s? I got my inspection license and in order for a 1 ton to pass it needs clearence lights. That may have started somewhat later so maybe theyre grandfathered in. You should not be able to purchase a new 1 ton or bigger truck without clearence lights in new York, though.

 

They're called Marker Lights.

They do nothing for "clearance".

Marker lights on the roof? Whats next, reflectors on the axles and curb feelers near the tires. Oh I know, chains hanging down from the mud flaps.

 

I think that since that truck is obviously used for snow removal anything to make it more visible is a good idea.

 

most people that plow put a small amber light bar. like a single round or a bubble one. my cousin has ones with 2 lights that just have magnets on them for his plow trucks.

 

Well, for a tractor they were called ID lights. O.O

At least that's what I was taught at my classes

I didn't know what to call them so I just called them clearance lights lul
