Every other country has the entire Toyota 4x4 truck lineup with diesel engines (HiLux, 4Runner and Landcruisers). It's beyond over-due for Toyota to release one to us. Vote on the poll to show what you'd prefer to see.

Looks like a petition was created back 9/2010 in which they had almost 3k signers. Guess the oil industry tycoons want to keep us enslaved to buying gasoline for our inefficient gas guzzlers.

Guess diesels aren't fast enough for you and your friends?

I'd love to be able to buy one in a few years when I get out of school but now we're just beating a dead horse. Car companies are moving toward smaller more fuel efficent engines even though diesels are far cleaner than gasoline despite the thick cloud of soot that you see spewing from the big rig stacks.

Wait what? The oil industry doesn't loose money if we all bought more fuel efficient vehicles, the price of the product would just increase until we hit a point that the difference in profit would be equal.

Nope. Oil industries only make gasoline. Diesel comes from sparkly dust fairies.

Yes but diesel engines are typically way more fuel efficient
