Ok so maybe this already exist but I am a new Tacoma owner and enjoy looking at the forum several times day. I often see acronyms in post discussing retrofits, Overlanding, suspension etc. and always scratching head o_O. If this exist please share. If not can we create one as a sticky for the newbs (me)? :anonymous:

Acronyms are learned as you go along. It was the same for me when I first joined. To be honest there’s so many variations that compiling a comprehensive list would be a task. Even then, people will still use them wrong.

Most of them are common internet use and can be googled, but if you see something you don’t know the meaning of, feel free to ask.

Go ahead, post a few while I’m still awake and I’ll translate.

    Shouldn't Add-A-Leaf be "AAL"?
If an axle propels, isn't it called an "output shaft"?
What differentiates a driveshaft from an output shaft?
Maybe: DS powers a differential (or other gearbox)
And: OS powers the wheel & tire directly
    ????
    (I'm asking.)

    Suspension
    ALL: Add a leaf
    CG: Center of Gravity
    CMC: Cab mount Chop
CV: constant velocity axles and driveshafts.
    MT: Mid travel

Yeah, manual transmission, or if tires, Mickey Thompson.
