Sounds like we may have to have a cutting board/wood working contest too!

We should have some rules.. what they are I have no clue. I think there were some great original ideas and some doing the best cooks of their lives.

It's really two contests.. the food you can make and how well you take photographs. I totally suck at the latter so that's something I need to work on for the next one.

Someone could reach out to other sponsors too... The manufactures of our smokers, our temp probes etc and see if they want to get some "advertising" from the contest?

Someone mentioned patches, TW stickers etc for participating?

I'm still not sold on the way things work on SMF, but anything is possible.

I agree to a point. These types of things are definitely a popularity contest, who talks to enough people to have them come vote more so than who actually cooks better(or more so who actually puts together a better photo) but given that I like to participate and eat what I've cooked. There is just as much fun in the lead up to the cooks, the shenanigans, as there is in winning some cool stuff. It's not like anyone that's voting is tasting the cooks to see if they are actually better than another, I'm just glad we're not basing it off of our own good looks.

I like the idea of everyone get's a patch or maybe a hat or something for joining the contest. I think the sponsors should get a hat with SPONSOR on it.

If we based it off our own good looks I would lose even though I don't participate. :)

Well we do participate, we send in prizes for the winners. :)

My pleasure. Honestly it's more that my fragile ego can't take the rejection. While my cookin skills are high up there, my piksure takin skill's are quite bad. :)

Which is pretty funny since I can do 3D design, websites, graphic design.

It's all good, I'm just horrible about pictures. I don't take them well (as you can see from the food I have posted here) WHEN I actually remember to take them. I start out with good intentions then the smells get the better of me and it's time to dig in. :)

I was thinking about hiring @bvbull20 's little one to be my photog.

Even I took the perfect picture @Misplaced Nebraskan would just photo some long gone bacon brontosaurus that's got a candied bacon wrapped teryadactal in it's mouth that had speared some never before seen ancient fish before being grabbed by the bronto. :annoyed::rofl:

The time line... It seems to have changed all 3 times... Planning ahead and having a hard deadline would be better.

That being said... I was so excited about my concoction that Jack convinced me to post it after I took the pictures. That's on me. Next time I'll wait a bit longer.

To be honest I think the whole everyone submits to @bvbull200 and then he posts them anon will also help with this, I think the waiting till the last minute thing isn't that much of a big deal as most people already know what they are going to do.
