Hello all. Purchased my 23 TRD OR, 5ft bed, in ice cap a few weeks ago. I traded in a 23 Ranger Tremor, and I'm so glad that I made the jump. Currently located in the DFW area, but originally from Sav, GA.

 

Very curious on the differences between the Tremor and Tacoma likes and dislikes.. I was going to buy a Tremor Ranger but prices were too high. Then I just happened to be at the right place/time for my Tacoma at the right price.. Ended up buying it instead. Still like the Tremors though..

 

The tremor was nice, and it kind of filled the gap between midsize and full size imo. Sat much taller, and felt like it had the ability to tow and carry much more payload. Some of the likes are definitely the power and stance from factory. I also had the microsuede heated seats and they were really comfortable. The rear seating felt much more comfortable and roomier than in the Taco just due to the seat material seating position...

Miss the power and acceleration of the turbo, however I started having driveline vibration issues. Went back and forth with the dealer for a while. I took it in at around 800 miles and they drove it and admitted that they felt the vibration and that it was concerning. They hooked it up to an analyzer and were able to pinpoint the issue. Dealership then went back and forth with Ford engineers to determine the fix, tried a TSB for shimming the angle, but then realized that wouldn't work on the Tremor because it has CV joints. Finally, gave me a call and said that the shutter is just typical of Tremors and that they verified it with another Tremor on the lot. I ended up driving it until around 7000miles and at the same time was having regrets and doing some dealership shopping. I got lucky and found a dealership that had a discounted '23 TRD OR and they were willing to give me $40k on trade in, which was way higher than anywhere else. I decided to bite the bullet and jump ship. I couldn't see myself driving it for 7-10 more years and being happy.

Overall, I think it's a great option. The 2.3 ecoboost is pretty proven and it pairs great with the Ranger. I just wasn't happy with Ford and decided I wanted something that I felt like I could drive many more miles and be happy with. I was originally btw the Cactus Gray Tremor and a Lunar Rock TRD OR, but ended up with the Tremor. I consider myself lucky that I was able to find a TRD OR this late in the year. I love this Ice Cap though!
