Thank you @mstudt (Mike), I received mine today. Pavlov would have been proud of me. Everyday after the mailman stopped by the mailbox, I ran out hopeful to receive "the patch". Its here!

Since you have a 3rd Gen, the velcro will not affix to the headliner as easily as it does with a 1st, or 2nd Gen. Basically, theirs is more of a fuzzier material and ours is tighter and not fuzzy at all.

When I started in this game, I used that very thin 3M double face tape. It worked very well. So then I moved up to the Velcro pieces with adhesive on the back, tossing the hook half since the patches come with that part.

After about a year or so, and mainly in the winter, they started dropping off. Each application method. So I got scared and stopped putting them up.

I have a new Taco and this time I am going to look for something stronger. Gorilla Tape? Maybe even fabric glue? Someone mentioned sewing needles on another thread. Maybe that's the answer. Except for the poly patches.

I have a 2nd gen so no problem sticking them to the inside of the roof. However, I could image someone might sew some "sash-type" arrangement to either hang over the inside edge of the front seats (the area between the seats near the center console). It will be interesting what folks come up with in the future.

I wear a sash, does that count?

I have this between the seats though.

That totally counts! See how clever some possible solutions can be?! Now, I have yet another item to add to my wish list. It is amazing what you can find here on TW to spend your money on.

I actually scooped that up after watching a video by our very own Tacomaholic @boogie3478 !!! It really comes in handy for just about anything. Rolls of TP, your hat, extra Tacos from The Bell, dog toys, you name it.

Use the sewing needles on the loop backing. Tack it to your roof and then stick the patch to that. You'll cover the pins with the patch and you won't damage your patch.
