Because I think the hanging tennis ball is played out, I used to use my DIY parking aid with my 2017 Tacoma to tell how close I was to my shelving. My new 2020 has a front camera, but this still works since I can see the pool noodle sticking up in front of the hood whereas he front camera distorts the field of view when real close to objects

Start with a garage designed to fit 1930's Buicks and then do the tennis ball trick to get it in the right spot every time.20200920_193348.jpg 20200920_193421.jpg

I don't know about the tennis ball
I don't know about the tennis ball method being played out. Beats a pool noodle hanging in the way all the time.

You can rig the tennis ball to retract when not needed.

Tennis ball is down when needed as garage door is open with vehicle pulling in; then retracts up and out of the way as automatic garage door is closed.

Yeah agree to disagree. I have multiple vehicles so tennis ball trick doesn’t work for that. Pool noodle works with any vehicle any time. It’s on a broom handle, so when not it use, simply move it out of the way
