You guys are whackado if you think he's on some vendetta to hurt Toyota sales, he owns a Tacoma and is a TW member, its caused him a lot of grief, he paid a lot of money for it, he's upset, most people when they are upset whether right or wrong, speak up about it.

I feel no need to trade to the new 2017. My 16 is running fine so why trade up lose on the trade and the price of a truck exactly like mine has also risen. So I consider a trade for me as a lose lose proposition.

Exactly, my truck went up 4% in price. I'll keep her.

Not really. The trade would break even and the value of the trade would wipe out about $2500 in taxes.

It is kind of pitiful we complained about the price going up on the new 2016 and toyota's answer was to go up again on the 2017's. Those who waited to see if the few bugs the 2016 had would be corrected in the 2017s will have to pay more to get one.

Your insane if you don't think you'll take a loss on that deal. You will, just maybe not as big as trading another vehicle. Vehicles depreciate sorry to break that to you, so you'll lose money from what you paid. When you trade yes you save on the taxes but trade in is less than private party so you'll lose there or break even. And the dealer already has you, they know you want another Tacoma, they will either low ball you on the trade and make you think your getting a good deal on the new truck off msrp. Or you'll pay on the new truck and get a fair price on your trade. Vehicles are always a losing game, just how much are you willing to lose. And seems silly to trade/lose money for essentially the SAME vehicle minus gizmos most don't need or will ever use.

Toyota is not my favorite right now because of what I've seen as of late price wise, customer service wise, the way their dealer's treat customers, salesman knowledge, not that same as my first taco purchase.

I think my concern would be the probability of inheriting issues you don't already have (assuming you have none now)

I sometimes miss the days of just having a good air conditioner, heater and radio in a truck. Maybe it would be at a reasonable price. If we keep wanting all this new technology the price will continue to rise. I might be forced one day to ride a bicycle or horse because i can no longer afford one.

Ah but you don't know what I paid. I got a hell of a deal and already have positive equity.

Doubtful no vehicle ever has positive equity. Maybe private party sale you'll break even but on trade in no way in hell bud. But hey this place is full of people who think they are exceptions or like to spew off nonsense numbers. Your money bud, you lose money one way or another, just silly to do so on the same truck. But hey your money, I waste tons on dirt bikes, but I also don't try to convince myself its a smart financial decision.

I had the low atf, which got me the free 7yr/100k platinum warranty. I have the hood vibration issue, but that doesn't look fixed on the 17, based on your other thread.

Positive equity is defined for autos as being worth more on trade than one owes. I already have a quote from carvana equal to my purchase price.

4 runners are good vehicles. My wife is on her 2nd highlander and we have had no complaints with them either.

However you need to justify it, you are still taking a loss trading in for the SAME truck.

    None...yet!
Then by all means, move on. Life is too short to be unhappy about any kind of stuff. If you have the means and the inclination get something you will be happy with, and leave others to be happy with what they got.

If you bought a brand new Duramax and LOVED it, would you really want to go to a Duramax forum and watch somebody post 2-3 negative threads a day and comment negatively in almost EVERY other thread?

I've only been on this forum since I bought my 4th Tacoma last week, but your kind of a buzz kill man.

A live and let live kind of deal... know what I mean...

With what appears to be no bugs corrected. I'm surprised the current fixes have not been rolled into the new model year already but I guess you can just make it a point of contention in the deal before you sign on the dotted line.

If not you're doing it wrong.
