So that’s why... I always wondered wth Toyota was thinking. They were thinking “let’s just take the front 12” off the long bed rear panels. Cheap bastuhds.

I don’t have a pic of it hooked up to the truck, but the rig is 2580LBS empty. With a full tank of gas, my brothers 40inch 130lbs spare tire, 70-80lbs of tools, spare drive shaft 30lbs, 60-70 lbs of recovery and misc gear it’s about 3k.
Truck pulls it no problem at all, I had a 2016 Chevy Colorado 3.6 2wd and although it pulled it just fine I really didn’t like how the back of the truck felt around turns, the samurai would always want to kick the ass end around. It’s a lot better with this truck but still need to take it very easy on turns and emergency maneuvers. The Sami is spooled in the rear and on 35s so that doesn’t help my case. If you were open diff in the rear of yours and small tires it would be a lot easier and safer than my set up.

haha, I need to keep the weight down for my trucks sake. I literally can pull the motor out by hand with a helper. Even with my 50 hp I keep up with all my crew jeeps on 38-40s all day long. Here’s a show off pic.

This is where Pennsylvania's safety inspections piss me off; Your trail rig would never be street legal here, but in California it's perfectly legal because it'll pass smog; Any issues passing smog, BTW?

I’ve had if for 6-7 years, haven’t had an issue yet and have got it smogged every 2 years, although I need to literally get it smogged this week cause I’m do for one. They seem to be getting more strict every year, so I guess I’ll find out. I only drive it on the street every once in a while, but I mainly have it registered and technically street legal just so that I can do trails in big bear Ca without issues.

    California sucks for car enthusiasts...

No antique vehicle loophole! My uncle has a 1977 VW Westfalia camper; California requires all vehicles 1976 and newer to pass smog and the bus won't pass, so he had to register it at his brother's house in Texas.

I might have to do the same if I have a problem It’s BS. The registration keeps going up every year as well. First few years it was $80 a year. Now $130. I feel like they try and make it harder to pass smog and raise rates just to make people get rid of shit. Like my little 1.3 motor doesn’t waste very much gas people. And it only see about 1000 trail miles and 100 street miles a year. Give me a break haha.

This is my uncle's 1977 Westfalia that won't pass smog; It was originally fuel-injected, and someone swapped the original engine for a carbureted engine before my uncle bought it...
