I really wish I knew more about it. I've asked my dad but its been so long that he doesn't remember much about when he did it. Truck was bought new by my dad in '95. He built the bed and did the dually setup in '97. He added extra leave's, overload bump stops and shocks to help with the weight since he was also a metalworker. When he retired he sold me the truck for a dollar and i have been using it since. I believe this is still the original axel from '95. It has wheel spacers and some off set wheels to get the dually's to fit. Unfortunately I was only 5 years old at the time so i cant remember much about it either. She sure rides like a truck though with the overloads. You have to play dodge the pot holes out here in Colorado.

Work has been a little slow this month so i have been prepping to the flat bed to take it off and do some tlc as the weather seals on the tool boxes rotted off and it use to sit outside for the last 5 years and the rust has been getting bad. I plan to redo some of the crossmembers and reinforce some the spots where the rust is getting bad. Also need to get new leaves under her because i had a load that was about 1.25 tons and it cracked 2 of the leafs.

Although i have had thoughts of selling this bed as is and getting rid of the tool boxes and making it a flat bed with the same style cross bars so i can still carry long material on top.

If you have any specifics you would like to know, I will do my best to answer them. I can also take a few other pictures. If your out in Colorado and would like to check it out id be glad to meet up. Ive been thinking of making a few more beds during slow work times and selling them if you are interested. Probably do some for 3rd gens as well since i got a '20 that is in need of a custom bed.

The day I move my girlfriend out of her parent house. First time her mom was happy I owned a pick up.

maybe it’s just the camera angle but it looks like there is less than a foot of space between the bed and trailer wood... hope you didn’t have to make any sharp turns!

Actually I spaced it perfectly, made lots of turns with no issues.

    Holy unbalanced taco, batman!

Seems like with all the weight in the back that it should have just been a slammed taco. That plow must have some serious weight.

Specifically bought my Access Cab SX with the purpose of running a side landscaping business and my daily driver to my main job as a teacher. Love that its an access cab and is truly the perfect sized truck for work use. Getting a trailer to tow along next spring.

Towed my project home. It’s been neglected stored on my dads property for about 10 years. Time to get it back on the road.
