    im in the south metro so your trip would be quick up 52 arround an hour

    Anyone here have go-to independent shops they take their Tacoma to (3rd gen is a +) for service? I just had my last "Toyotacare" 25k service done and I've had enough rough experiences with the south Metro dealerships to last a lifetime.

    Spider Lake near Backus is mild, but has some decent enough trail. Also puts you near Cass county which is an “open unless marked” county.

    Be sure to get your OHV sticker if you are on state lands... and it helps keep trails open.

    Appleton has some fun trails and is fairly close.

    Gilbert is much bigger (did they finally connect the extension?) but it’s the furthest away.

    If you are interested in Overlanding type off-road, look into The Midwest Overland Society (MOS). If more hardcore is your fancy, some of the others can assist better than me.

    Either way, tread lightly, respect the environment, follow the rules/laws, and enjoy your outdoor spaces!
