The same place that does the woolwax also does ceramic coatings and I'm really considering getting it done. Has anyone else here done it?

I don't hand wax my vehicles, just touchless car washes and I plan to keep this truck for many years. Would like to keep it looking nice. They use Ecocoat Kenzo if it matters.

    Thoughts?

I’ve been thinking of ceramic coating mine but haven’t gotten around to it yet

I may pull the trigger on this sooner rather than later. Use the money I've been saving for a lift on it since I shouldn't get a lift to begin with (this is my DD where I do at least 70 miles a day so losing mpg hurts).

Lifts are overrated IMO and unnecessary for 90% of people. Put on some good tires and you’ll be fine

Oh completely unnecessary for me. Just a small 2" in front, 1.5" in the back would look really nice. I did go with some taller tires (265/70/17) so it looks a bit higher off the ground.

I just installed my 2" Front and 1.5" rear two weeks ago, and although undoubtedly unnecessary, I do love it (also running 265/75/R16's).

For anyone wanting to DIY the lift, get the ECGS bearing and I am more than happy to loan out my ECGS bearing puller tool in the twin cities area.

I do keep thinking of getting Ceramic Coating done - did they give you a price for having it done by chance?

You're not helping me with my lift needs. I'm sure it looks amazing...I think I need a lift to drive into work...

They gave me a ballpark range of $800-$1200, the gentleman that I spoke with doesn't do the pricing, his partner does but said it would be around that price point. I'll probably reach out to them today to get a time line on when it can be done and a bit more exact pricing (I would imagine it also depends on how much paint correction and chips/knicks need to be taken care of prior too).

Rubbing at all with the -12 wheels? I have the Stealth 6 in 17s so at -10 and after some heat gunning and trimming I rub a little bit. Thinking a little lift would help with that...

And if I do get a lift I'll have a shop install it, quotes I got so far have been $900+ for the install and another several hundred to install ECGS bearing. So the price tag has kept me away from getting it done...so far.

Prior to the lift I would get a little rub when fully locked to the left turning into parking lots and hitting the "bump" where the curb met the street. I have not experienced the same rub yet, but I've also not been to the most notorious parking lots where it's happened in the past, so TBD, but so far it seems better.

I'm lucky to work in an office with a boss who owns a car condo, so all my lift and install needs are handled. I do think that if I had been told $1,000+ for the install I'd hesitate, too! The two of us got all 4 corners done in 4-5 hours with the bearing installed as well. I had to help him bleed the brakes on his Sunbeam Tiger as "payment".

That's exactly where I'm getting the rub. Start driving around those parking lots and report back! This might be the rational I need to get that lift.

My only complaint (that others will echo) is the locks need to have a cover of some type on them to keep the salt/gunk out over winter, but I hear they are working on rubber gaskets to go over the locks. Otherwise, It's very nearly watertight ( I have had some small drips after very heavy, driving rains) and will support the RTT when I get that put on for the season. The fit and finish is great, and the overall quality is excellent.

Nice! My wife and I are headed out there in June, can I pick your brain (on the thread or in a PM) about your trip?
