My wife will remain on snows until toyota decides they want to build the rav4 I put a deposit on.... he summer tires are so cracked I dont feel safe letter her drive on them, and im not about to buy new tires when the car is going to the junk yard when her new one shows up.

EDIT: actually, her rx330 has the same bolt pattern as the new rav4 does, and she has some sweet 18 inch thundercloud wheels on there. Might buy some nice tires to put on those and swap them onto the new rav when it shows up.

Drove down to Chicago yesterday, still on my Blizzaks. Surprised they didn’t melt. Swapping them when I’m back home later this week.

My shovel is staying put away in the garage rafters, the sun can deal with all this bullshit snow.

    (Couple weeks back.)

Tacoma has been a champ this winter, but I'm ready for this shit to cease. Had the motorcycle and convertible out for a few days already, so the continued snowfall feels extra cruel. Got a whole rebuild kit for the Meyer plow hydraulic unit on the Tacoma, hoping to overhaul and shelve it and come into next winter swinging. Gonna be here before we know it.

Does anybody need the center part of a stock bumper?
I am giving this away but if it's not gone in a week I'm throwing it away.

Has anyone replaced the rear wheel bearings on a second gen in the twin cities area, or maybe someone can recommend a shop where they've had it done? I've been reading the thread below and don't have access to a welder to make the tool. I replaced my front wheel bearing hubs recently, ruled out the rear diff with a fresh oil change, not much for play yet but she sings at 60mph.

I built a tool to do my 1st gen, not sure if the hub pattern is the same. I'm in the St. Cloud area, if you can retrieve the tool you're free to borrow it.

I'm not sure about that either, but I'll see if I can find out. Appreciate the offer!

I made one years ago for an FJ Cruiser I used to own. Don't recall if the flange pattern was the same, but it definitely seems similar.

This is probably a super long shot but does anyone near the Twin Cities have a bed topper for sale for a 1st gen reg cab? I'm moving out to Northern CA and was hoping to find one to make my move a bit easier (just two bikes and some duffel bags) since I'll be driving my truck out there.

Probably a super long shot, so I guess the more moderate followup is also what dimension bed topper will fit a first gen reg cab bed?

Softopper are cheap but less security.

    Where in NorCal you headed?

SF. I was hoping to find a topper so there’s enough room for the rest of my stuff in addition to a bicycle (or hopefully two…) but I’m moderately concerned about being able to find one in time for my move in June.

Moving TO California? I didn't think it happened anymore :) My wife and I left NorCal 25 years ago so we could actually make a decent living.

That’s a tough call if you are moving into the city proper. I wouldn’t store much unattended in my vehicle there. Grew up on the South Bay, and am back there once a year…. Don’t like SF proper much at all, it gets worse every time I’m back.

For transport out, maybe look at one of the small enclosed uhaul trailers? Also hit up your LBS for a bike box, grab some pool noodles and zip ties, and box your bikes up. Way easier to pack and transport.
