I am thinking about buying a DIY bumper kit and was wondering if anyone has recommendations on a wielding shop? I don't feel my skills are up to snuff to do it myself.

 

Got a rooftop tent I am going to sell. Large with extra room at ground level. Just thought I would ask for interest before I write it up

 

Anyone in the twin cities have a MBRP turn down exhaust installed? I am thinking about getting one but would like to hear it in person first.

I'd be down for something like this. Especially if it was on the south side of the Twin Cities.

 

I like Pryes, Bauhaus, and Modist. I don't know any breweries on the southside, but am open to trying new spots. Let's get something on the books.

I’m planning on visiting the Superior National Forest in early October for some camping. Are there any must see spots as far scenery goes? Can primitive camping be done just about anywhere?

 

Pretty sure you just have to be a certain distance from established campgrounds and I believe from the shoreline. Most everything else is fair game.

 

Dang, I dont know how I missed this. When should we get together? How about next weekend?

Download the MVUM, it will show you where you can legally disperse camp.

Links to said maps can be found in the MVUM section (https://www.fs.usda.gov/main/superior/maps-pubs) under “interactive maps”. They are geo-referenced within the free app Avenza. (Do not trust what MVUMs are in Gaia, they are not updated and have a warning to not use as legal access)

Not entirely true, there is lots of nuance to dispersed camping rules/locations. The current MVUMs located on a given NF’s home page are the only legally binding guide to said camping locations.


PSA: Remember to tread lightly, pack it in pack it out, and respect our public lands. We want to open trails, not close them.

 

Just got back from my trip. Wow. What a beautiful area. We camped at Tettegouche, Lamb's Resort, and 2 nights in the National Forest. Going on the gondola at Lutsen Mountains was definitely a highlight. Will post some photos after I go through them.

 

a great time to be up north! just about peak fall colors i'd say looking at our maples. hopefully you weren't blown away too hard with the crazy winds the past few days we've been having! sure knocked down a few trees in my backyard and woods.
