Any of you guys get your trucks rust proofed? I bought a 2012 last year that is still rust free. I'd like to keep it that way as long as possible. The only place near me that does rust proofing uses a product called Waxoyl.

Very cool! I'd love to join in for some wheeling trips sometime this year if any are in the works. I actually go bear hunting right near Isabella.

 

Thought I would check in here I've mostly just spied around TW sense picking up my gen 2 DCSB. Finally life has slowed down a bit and I can do some modding and fun traveling. I live just across the border in WI but work in MN just north of the twin cities.

I've never done a rustproof before. One thing I've always worried about is salt or something getting trapped under the rustproofing and quietly eating away all unsuspecting like. Ever try Fluid Film?

Well there is a lot I want to do to it. I recently got some rancho complete adjustable struts that are supposed to add 1.75inches of lift to the front. Any other mods you would suggest to go with those? Getting the correct size struts on were a pain, can't imagine that will be any easier. I used to have a strut spacer to make up the lift but that gave my front end a severe positive camber. I realize now that I probably could have fixed that by doing an alignment, but I just took the spacers off instead, figured they weren't the best for performance anyways.

I also have to clean up the frame again. thinking of rhino lining it or something to seal it from getting any rust ever again. The salt up here is no joke.

Haha, that was easy. Regular cab is my favorite, I think it looks like a giant Rc car. You know, like a toy.

 

I spend a lot of time in Isabella in the fall. Not bear hunting though.

Have a good friend that lives in Silver Bay and hunt with him a few weeks every year. Cover a large chunk of ground hunting birds.



Get tired of eating your own cooking the trick is finding out when Stony River Cafe is open and he isn't down on the North Shore golfing.

Not that there is anything wrong with my own cooking and bacon fried fresh grouse.



Can always drive down to Our Place in Finland too. Or the Trestle Inn at Crooked Lake.

Antenna to my truck is someplace down the Stony Fork Loop road.

 

I haven't tried any rust proofing before. Does Fluid Film lesson the chance of trapping salt/hiding rust?

 

It's supposed to. I've been reading about it for a couple of years. Jeep guys swear by it and we all know much Jeeps like to rust. At least I do anyway. I've had 3.

 

Well then...I'll start doing some reading. I've got plenty of time to learn, I don't plan on doing anything with it until next fall. Thanks for the info!
