Thanks for posting that. I've been all of the Lake and Cook Counties section already. Not surprising kind of hard to go East or West without hitting The Grade. Tomahawk, Wanless, Devil Track, Firebox, Arrowhead they took a few not so direct routes but overall I think it is very well done. As long as everyone else stays the hell off it in Oct. and Nov. when I'm grouse hunting LOL.

The PDF looks a lot like the Superior National Forrest Map. I stopped down in Tofte at the Ranger Station last fall and asked when they were going to update it, it is at least 10 years old. They said this Summer the updated map should be out.

It shows the Timber Frear Loop as not being a loop. But it is. Keep going past here

    Timber Frear Loop.jpg

And you will come back out on the Grade. But to say it is rough would be an understatement.

Guess I am in the minority too. I always preferred some rake. Had AAL on my Xterra they suffer with the same weak ass springs. Took me less than 6 months to flatten them, never really been a fan of AAL. Ended up putting bags and Daystar cradles on, with the Baja suspension it has worked well so far as long as I keep them aired up. One of these days should replace the leaf packs, but not in a hurry yet. Happy with the bags and cradles so far, especially as much as my cargo load varies.

I'm still thinking about having a meet up for us, but maybe May'ish...? All this cold weather is making me a bit gunshy for April.

I'm also leaning towards Hyland Park in Bloomington.

    Thoughts?

    Yeah, you're still "Twin Cities"

I'd likely come out for Hyland park.

There's a group campsite there called Sumac Knoll. I don't know much about it, but might be an option for you folks that need to drive in.

May 19th South St. Paul Gunclub is having the annual Sweet 16 shoot. People will be coming from all around the country. I'll be there, everyone should grab their 16 ga. and join in, always a great time. About the only thing that will drag me into the Cities. Hell I usually drive through Wi. to avoid going through the Cities.

Not many Cities that large where they still have a gunclub in it so nothing against it. Just so much traffic. And too many people for me. But better than most Cities by far.

Pedantically speaking, South Saint Paul encompass only 6.1 square miles and is home to just barely north of 21k.

Not very big at all :D

Any 3rd genner's looking for a short bed oem tonneau? I don't know if it's okay to post this here, but it seems this thread would reach the right audience over the marketplace.

This is similar to a setup I'm looking at.

Firmly entrenched in paralysis by analysis.
