You are close to me. I can almost throw a rock and hit the park from my house.

I'm running the dakars without the added leaf and the top overload flipped in my 2g dcsb. TRD Baja pro (6112/5160) with 650s up front, moving to 700s this year. Left front is on the high setting to assist with taco lean. Also have inverted timbrens in the rear for when shit gets silly.

ARB front bumper and 10k winch. With the Habitat empty water tank and fridge I am a touch nose down.

Loaded up I am 1.5" off the timbrens and springs still have some arch I try and keep the weight as close to the COG as possible. I'll be adding the extra leaf this season to give a bit more travel and level the truck.

If you have few miles on your dakars, you could have just sped the settling process up, as long as you didn't flatten or concave the springs and they still have good arch.

Depending on your front spring rate, you may get into a rake with a plate bumper.

There are a few things that are going to effect our trucks differently. 2G vs 3G. Mid vs long wheelbase, and most of all location of the static weight. Hanging a heavy rear bumper is going to have more of a dramatic effect on rear ride height than the same weight up at the cab. As you move forward, the front springs take more of that load. Once you shift aft of the rear axle, as in a bumper, you are not only focusing all the load to the rear springs, but actually leveraging up in the fronts.

So which two are most important to you: the look, ride quality, or load capacity?

I installed the new HD Dakars a couple weeks ago, and while in daily-driver mode I have less than 150lbs in the back. I think it rides just fine.

I haven't done any measurements or fully loaded it up yet. While loaded I like still having 1"+ of rake.

May 12th and 13th is fishing opener weekend. Not sure how many of the MN taco people fish, but I probably wouldn't be able to make it that weekend.

I think there will still be ice pretty much everywhere in the state. I think my friends and I will be hitting a river somewhere.

    Check out my builds! ----->
I'd be down for either the 13th or the 27th, but maybe with fishing opener the 27th would work better for everyone?

Is anyone going to the Iron Range Open House in May? http://nsw4x4.com/events.html

Well the 13th is Mother's Day to put that on people's radars. Did I miss why Saturdays are out? (serious question)

I watched news clips of him fishing on Mille Lacs last year for opener. It was PAINFUL, that man couldn't catch a fish if you put it on the hook for him.

John my truck sags with load Jesse picks on me but I drive 90-100 miles a day on crappy county roads the stiffer ride with the extra spring is not something I want in my daily driver. I keep about 100 pounds of recovery/tools/tire chains and logging chains in the back, bed bars and the RTT. It rides level like that. The weight helps the ride and traction when snowy. The Timbrens rock I wouldn’t go without them I like how corprin flipped his, and wish I would have done it that way but when the rust out I’ll machine new plates.

I'm totally down with a Saturday too. As of now it sounds like maybe the 26th or 27th? I'll have to check with the wife-unit.

I always make fun of Aaron. Real men run with 3" of rake.

Got the new rear bump on yesterday!! It took 5 of us lol. =/

On the way back from Wisconsin this morning, had a hen turkey get up and fly into my truck. Hitting a turkey doin' 60mph will leave quite a nice dent, also took out my antenna and most of the side mirror. Just glad it didn't come through the windshield.

That's what you get for being in WI. What'd we learn?

Glad everyone is alright. Time for a rebuild with heated glass :)
