both silverados and colorados are typically in the top 10 highest resale vehicle lists. not as high as tacomas/4runners or even the tundra (that surprises me, I am not a tundra fan) but I think calling them lousy resale is a stretch.

Wow.... I had heard diesels got good mileage but I had no idea it was that good! I don't think the mileage on the Taco's are bad though, I can get about 400 miles per tank. I'm happy with it only taking half a tank to get from home to Duluth.

For full size trucks, the Tundras look pretty dang nice, but I've been a Raptor guy since I was 10 years old or so when they came out. A red first gen extended cab Raptor is the dream! But 2nd gen Raptors.... maybe if they had a V8 I would consider it....

Yeah, since he brought it up I've been looking into the Tuk trip - and the more I look the more dissuaded I get. :( That is a shit ton of miles with little to no offroad trails, so what would be the point of driving our fat pigs out there?? I absolutely agree with you, it'd be a perfect Sprinter trip, and I even brought it up to the wife as such.

The Sprinter is still many years away though, if it even happens....

:anonymous: They may not be the best for off-roading.... but you have to admit this would be badass to drive around! Far from a practical daily driver though...

Yeah...... part of it is jealousy for sure. I've always thought they looked awesome, and I'd kill for some of their capability. But as you say, you never see them out on the trails (or anywhere offroad for that matter). You look like a complete badass pulling into Home Depot though.

Forgot to mention after months of looking I finally bought a house. Best part the association I now belong to owns a beach on Green Lake. So If we need a spot to do a meet up we can do it there. But than everyone would be doing an hour drive instead of me.

A friend of mine that lives in Spearfish, SD did that trip last year. On his touring bike with a small tent. We took the USS Coral Sea around the world in 83 together and both retired from the Navy about 20 years ago. Old Iron Butt is 67.

Hopefully be able to pick up my 19 Polaris Ranger Northstar HVAC today. Cost almost as much as my Taco did but I give up. Not a fan of ATV's most of my life but it makes sense and is better than any pickup off road. And the laws are more favorable for them the last couple of years in Mn. Also in the Sunset Country of Ontario North of Thunder Bay where starting next year I plan on spending a lot more time in the fall bird hunting. In Az. and SD they are pretty much street legal everywhere. Hmm...

Ultimately would like to haul it in a V nose aluminum cargo trailer converted to 4 season living similar to an Arctic Fox TT. And don't want anything larger than the Taco as a TV, the Colorado diesel makes a lot of sense although cuts it close on the towing limit. Sprinter does make sense too, but at a rather high price. Would like to have everything paid off before I retire for good in a couple of years and that would put a hurting on that idea. If money were no object the Sprinter would be the vehicle of choice. But money is always an object one way or another.

Yeah, it seems to be a popular trip for bikes. That'd be a pretty amazing ride.

You can get a Sprinter with 4WD Lo and be about $10k into your conversion for the same price as a Raptor! :anonymous:

Meh, hasn't been an issue. I have the bumper because I backed into a tree and messed up my old bumper, so it was a good excuse to upgrade lol. All my mods I did almost opposite of what I planned hah. I had no intention on a high clearance bumper until that tree jumped out of nowhere at me!
